After Sony Pictures Hack Attack Employees Receive Threatening Email

Sony Pictures employees received e-mails from hackers threatening to harm them and their family members. It seems like matters for Sony Pictures is getting worse with time. Last month hacking attack on Sony Pictures Entertainment made the studio’s internal corporate systems offline and spewed confidential information onto the Internet. Hackers group that identifies itself as #GOP (Guardians of Peace) claimed responsibility for the hack and apparently stolen reams of internal corporate data as well.

Just a week after the cyber-attack on Sony Pictures Entertainment, high-quality versions of five newest films distributed by Sony Pictures leaked have made their way onto torrent file-sharing websites, online during Black Friday. Although it has not been confirmed that the leak of all the films came from the same breach, but the company suffering is the same.

  • "Still Alice" starring Julianne Moore, Alec Baldwin – US release date: Jan 16, 2015
  • "Mr Turner" starring Timothy Spall. – US release date: Dec 19, 2014
  • "Annie" starring Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz. – US release date: Dec 19, 2014
  • "Fury" starring Brad Pitt – US release date: Oct 17, 2014
  • "To Write Love on Her Arms" – US release date: March 2015

However, it didn’t end up here!! Just last week, the massive data breach at Sony appeared to have exposed more sensitive documents, revealing the US Social Security numbers of more than 47,000 celebrities, freelancers, and current and former Sony employees.
And now, according to several media sources, employees at Sony Pictures Entertainment were sent threatening emails from the GOP group of hackers.

The e-mail was written in English that asked the company employees, "Please sign your name to object the false (sic) of the company at the email address below, if you don't want to suffer damage. If you don’t, not only you but your family will be in danger."

Sony Pictures is working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to investigate the whole matter. Till then, the employees at the Studio were told to turn off their phones after receiving this email messages.
As we reported earlier, there are some possibilities that hackers working on behalf of North Korea were behind the hacking incident, though the country denied it. But Sony believes that the cyber attack on its network is the payback for upcoming Kim Jong assassination comedy film, "The Interview," which is about two journalists who are recruited by the CIA to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

The FBI investigating the matter said that cyber criminals have used malicious software, Wiper malware, to launch destructive cyber-attacks including the one occurred at Sony Pictures Entertainment.
The full email send by hackers to the Studio’s employee reads:

"I am the head of GOP who made you worry.
Removing Sony Pictures on earth is a very tiny work for our group which is a worldwide organization. And what we have done so far is only a small part of our further plan. It’s your false if you if you think this crisis will be over after some time. All hope will leave you and Sony Pictures will collapse. This situation is only due to Sony Pictures. Sony Pictures is responsible for whatever the result is. Sony Pictues clings to what is good to nobody from the beginning. It’s silly to expect in Sony Pictures to take off us. Sony Pictures makes only useless efforts. One beside you can be our member.

Many things beyond imagination will happen at many places of the world. Our agents find themselves act in necessary places. Please sign your name to object the false of the company at the email address below if you don’t want to suffer damage. If you don’t, not only you but your family will be in danger.

Nobody can prevent us, but the only way is to follow our demand. If you want to prevent us, make your company behave wisely."

One Click Paypal Account Hack

An Egyptian security researcher, Yasser H. Ali has discovered three critical vulnerabilities in PayPal website including CSRF, Auth token bypass and Resetting the security question, which could be used by cybercriminals in the targeted attacks.
Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF or XSRF) is a method of attacking a website in which an attacker need to convince the victim to click on a specially crafted HTML exploit page that will make a request to the vulnerable website on their behalf.

This vulnerability enabled my to completely bypass the CSRF Prevention System implemented by PayPal, The vulnerability is patched very fast and PayPal paid me the maximum bounty they give ;). -Yasser H. Ali

1- Reusable CSRF Token:
The CSRF token “that authenticate every single request made by the user” which can be also found in the request body of every request with the parameter name “Auth” get changed with every request made by user for security measures, but after a deep investigation I found out that the CSRF Auth is Reusable for that specific user email address or username, this means If an attacker found any of these CSRF Tokens, He can then make actions in the behave of any logged in user.
Hmm, it seems interesting but still not exploitable, as there is no way for an attacker to get the “Auth” value from a victim session.

2- Bypassing the CSRF Auth System:
The CSRF Auth verifies every single request of that user, So what If an attacker “not logged in” tries to make a “send money” request then PayPal will ask the attacker to provide his email and password, The attacker will provide the “Victim Email” and ANY password, Then he will capture the request, The request will contain a Valid CSRF Auth token Which is Reusable and Can authorise this specific user requests. Upon Further Investigation, We have found out that an Attacker can obtain the CSRF Auth which can be valid for ALL users, by intercepting the POST request from a page that provide an Auth Token before the Logging-in process, check this page for the magical CSRF Auth “https://www.paypal.com/eg/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_send-money”. At this point the attacker Can CSRF “almost” any request on behave of this user.

The application generates a valid "Auth" token for a logged-out user!
The application generates a valid “Auth” token for a logged-out user!
Through examination of the password change process, I have found that an attacker can NOT Change the victim password without answering the Security Questions set by user, Also the user himself can NOT change the security questions without entering the password!

3- ByPassing the Security Questions Change:
Screen Shot 2014-08-13 at 12.20.52 AM

The initial process of “setting” security questions is not password protected and is reusable
After further investigation, I have noticed that the request of setting up the security questions “which is initiated by the user while signing up” is not password-protected, and it can be reused to reset the security questions up without providing the password, hence, Armed with the CSRF Auth, an attacker can CSRF this process too and change the victim’s Security questions.

At this point, An attacker can conduct a targeted CSRF attack against a PayPal users and take a full control over his account Hence, An attacker can CSRF all the requests including but not limited to:

1- Add/Remove/Confirm Email address
2-Add fully privileged users to business account
3- Change Security questions
4- Change Billing/Shipping Address
5- Change Payment methods
6- Change user settings(Notifications/Mobile settings) ………… and more.
To automate the who process, I have coded a Python interactive server to demonstrate how an attacker can exploit this vulnerability in a real-life scenario attack.

Security Researcher claims Uber’s app is literally Malware

The popular ride-sharing service Uber has been hit by various controversies lately, but now the things gone even worse for the company when a security researcher made a worrying discovery this week and claims, "Uber’s app is literally malware."

Researcher, who runs a cyber security firm in Arizona, just reverse-engineered the code of Uber’s Android application and come to the conclusion that it is a malware. He discovered that the app "calls home" and sends data back to the company.

The ride-hailing company is in disputes of handling privacy of its customers data. A Phoenix-based security researcher Joe Giron found that a surprising amount of users’ data is being collected by the company’s mobile application for Android.

The ride-driving company might have some legitimate reason to make use of most of this collected information in the app, perhaps for fraud detection or an intelligence-gathering tool. But, the problem is that the information is being sent and collected by Uber’s servers without any knowledge or permission of the app user. Neither the extent of the data the Uber app collects seems to go beyond the data set shown on its permissions screen.

Here we present you a long list of everything the Uber Android app can have about its users, revealed by a thread on Ycombinator:
  • Accounts log (Email)
  • App Activity (Name, PackageName, Process Number of activity, Processed id)
  • App Data Usage (Cache size, code size, data size, name, package name)
  • App Install (installed at, name, package name, unknown sources enabled, version code, version name)
  • Battery (health, level, plugged, present, scale, status, technology, temperature, voltage)
  • Device Info (board, brand, build version, cell number, device, device type, display, fingerprint, ip, mac address, manufacturer, model, os platform, product, sdk code, total disk space, unknown sources enabled)
  • GPS (accuracy, altitude, latitude, longitude, provider, speed)
  • MMS (from number, mms at, mmss type, service number, to number)
  • NetData (bytes received, bytes sent, connection type, interface type)
  • PhoneCall (call duration, called at, from number, phone call type, to number)
  • SMS (from number, service number, sms at, sms type, to number)
  • TelephonyInfo (cell tower id, cell tower latitude, cell tower longitude, imei, iso country code, local area code, meid, mobile country code, mobile network code, network name, network type, phone type, sim serial number, sim state, subscriber id)
  • WifiConnection (bssid, ip, linkspeed, macaddr, networkid, rssi, ssid)
  • WifiNeighbors (bssid, capabilities, frequency, level, ssid)
  • Root Check (root staus code, root status reason code, root version, sig file version)
  • Malware Info (algorithm confidence, app list, found malware, malware sdk version, package list, reason code, service list, sigfile version)

Uber responded to the issue and said in a statement to Cult of Mac, "Access to permissions including Wifi networks and camera are included so that users can experience full functionality of the Uber app. This is not unique to Uber, and downloading the Uber app is of course optional."

A group of hackers defaced the website of a telecommunications company this week, allegedly over its poor Internet service.
For several moments, the group calling itself "Blood Security Hackers" defaced the pages in the website of Globe Telecoms.
Globe Telecom explained that the hacks were conducted on sites run by a third party affiliated with the telco. Globe also assured the public that no sensitive information was stolen and that immediate action has been undertaken to shore up the security breach.
GLOBE Telecoms released an official statement regarding web defacement.
http://www.globe.com.ph/press-room/globe-statement-on-web-defacement

At around 10:00 pm yesterday, November 27, Globe Telecom detected a defacement in four Globe websites hosted by a third party vendor Movent. All four websites (mybusiness.globe.com.ph, duo.globe.com.ph, payroll.globe.csme.com and update.globe-csme.com) have been taken down immediately so we can conduct the appropriate security checks.

"The server where the four websites are hosted is managed by a third party partner and outside of the Globe Corporate and Enterprise Network, where appropriate preventive and detective controls are in place. The attack is isolated on their end and was brought about by an unpatched vulnerability which is currently being addressed. Rest assured, our security incident response teams are currently investigating and conducting forensics in various areas to make sure that the incident is properly managed," said Globe Chief Information Security Officer Anton Bonifacio.

Globe assures its customers that no critical customer data have been compromised as these information are not stored in the affected websites. The said websites are used for advertising and marketing purposes only and are not connected to any of the private internal customer systems. Globe also said that its own Globe-hosted websites were not compromised.

Up to now 3 of the said website still under maintenance :

How to Remove Network Numbers and WiFi Profiles on Windows 7

About network number is just a mere reference on how many times a network core was changed.
In some cases a new configured network with a new SSID adopts older names but because the security encryption or password changed and you cannot connect.

Examples of different names for the same Network during different configs:

Network name has its specific settings, which are not simply replaced by a new Network configuration... And this Network settings, tagged by Network numbers, are stored somewhere in the system. My doubt is this: do this records somehow interfere with new Network configurations? I tend to say they do.
If not, why is the merge tool? Merge is useless on WiFi because if you change routers WiFi configs you can't merge. simply delete or edit the profile..

How to remove Network numbers on LAN

1. Open "Network and Sharing Center"
sample click this

2. Click on the "Icon"(a house icon for me) under "View your active networks".
This will open the "Set Network Properties" dialogue. Here you can rename a network connection or change the icon for that network connection.

You can Click on "Merge or Delete Network Locations" to see a list of stored network connections.

You can merge or delete connections here as well as see if a network connection is in use and managed or unmanaged.
Merge this tools is unusable for me because I change security regularly
Delete this is very useful on WiFi but i have better solution on WiFi

To many networks to Merge or Delete  better just rename the Network :p

How to remove SSID on Wireless Connection

Ok like what I sad  If you used the same name SSID  but different Network security key (password) you can NOT CONNECT.
1. Again Open "Network and Sharing Center"
sample click this

 2. Click Manage Wireless Networks
Right Click the network you want to Remove or Change Properties.

If you click Properties you can able to view Network security Key (password) and change with the new one if you already change your  Router WiFi password.

Other way  direct right click  the network SSID click the properties to view password or change it..

Security researchers from UK have found a way to steal larger amounts of money from people's pockets using just a mobile phone

Researchers on Wednesday at the 21st ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security, detailed the attack which rely on a “rogue POS terminal” running on a mobile device that could be pre-set to a large amount of money, a wireless transfer of up to 999,999.99 units in any currency.

Security researchers from Newcastle University in the UK have found a way to steal larger amounts of money from people's pockets using just a mobile phone, due to a security glitch Visa’s contactless payment cards.

Contactless payment cards use a cryptoprocessor and RFID technology to perform secure transactions without a need to insert the card in a reader, even an NFC-equipped mobile device may also be used as a payment card. But there is a specified limits country-wise.

Contactless payment cards are meant to have a limit of £20 per purchase in UK, using which shoppers can buy things by simply tapping their card on a scanner, without having to type in a PIN. But exploiting a flaw in its protocol could allow cyber criminals to manipulate the cards to transfer up to $999,999.99 in foreign currency into a scammer’s account.

'Multiple safeguards'
They said transactions with the card were approved in less than a second.
"All the checks are carried out on the card rather than the terminal, so at the point of transaction there is nothing to raise suspicions," said Martin Emms, lead researcher on the project.
"By pre-setting the amount you want to transfer, you can bump your mobile against someone's pocket or swipe your phone over a wallet left on a table and approve a transaction."
He acknowledged the study had not looked at the security systems banks have in place to prevent fraud.
But he added it was not clear, looking at the payment protocol, how banks would deal with the problem.
Visa said it had reviewed the research and it did not take into account "multiple safeguards put into place throughout the Visa system".
"For these reasons we do not believe the findings to be a cause for concern, as it would be very difficult to complete a fraudulent payment of this kind outside a laboratory environment," its statement said.
The good news is that the research team haven’t tested how Visa’s system reacted to a rush of foreign currency transfers, and whether it would flag them up as a possible fraud or not.
But the experts are worried that the contactless payment cards system is insecure, and that cybercriminals would likely use the flaw to set up hundreds or thousands of fraudulent transactions in smaller amounts to evade detection.

"Our research has identified a real vulnerability in the payment protocol, which could open the door to potential fraud by criminals who are constantly looking for ways to breach the system," Emms said.

In a report on the BBC, Visa Europe said that "we have reviewed Newcastle's findings as part of our continued focus on security and beating payments fraud" and that their research "does not take into account the multiple safeguards put into place throughout the Visa system", adding that it would be "very difficult to complete this type of transaction outside of a laboratory environment."
Visa Europe also said that the company is updating its protection to require more payment card transactions to be authenticated online, making this kind of attack more difficult to carry out.
