Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10586 to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring

Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10586 to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring. This build is really focused on bug fixes and general improvements. We’ve been loving this build in our internal rings as it is very fast and smooth, and makes a great daily driver.

Here are some things we have fixed:
•The issue where any audio playing (like music from Groove, or videos from the Movies & TV app) gets reduced by 75% for a period of time after a notification pops up from Action Center is fixed.
•Pressing the power button on your Surface Pro 3 should put your Surface Pro 3 to sleep instead of shutting it down.
•We fixed an issue reported by Windows Insiders where a disksnapshot.exe command prompt window would flash randomly.
•Windows should now remember your previous login type. For example, if you log in with a PIN - it will prompt you for a PIN next time instead of another type.
•We fixed an issue where Tab previews in Microsoft Edge were appearing as black if the page was not scrolled to the top, and web note clippings were also appearing as black.
•Small form-factor devices, like the Dell Venue 8 Pro, that boot with rotation or virtual mode screen size set larger than the physical screen size should no longer experience a bluescreen on upgrade.
•Apps and games should download from the Store more reliably.

Known issues:
•After upgrading from one Windows 10 Insider Preview build to another Insider Preview build, Skype messages and contacts will disappear from the Messaging + Skype app. You can get Skype messages and contacts back by navigating to “C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Messaging_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache” in File Explorer and deleting or renaming the “PrivateTransportId” file. After deleting or renaming that file, go to the Skype video app and sign out of Skype and sign back in.
•The Insider Hub might be gone after upgrading to this build. You can get Insider Hub back by going to Settings > System > Apps & features and clicking “Mange optional features”, choosing “Add a feature” and selecting Insider Hub.

Updates:
This could be the Final Threshold 2 (Th2)  because there is no more Insider preview watermarks and the License status is different ..

Before my License Status is like this.

Slow-motion video capture comes to Camera for Windows 10 and Windows Phone

Slow-motion video has been one of the most frequent requests we hear from people using the Camera app on Windows Phone and Windows 10. So, we’re happy to announce that you can now capture slow-motion video with Camera for Windows 10 on Lumia 930, Lumia 1520 and Lumia Icon phones. The latest Windows build now supports video capture of 120 fps in 720p resolution. To start capturing slow-motion video, select the Video button on the Camera screen, and then select the icon with the turtle.

To adjust your clips, select Edit slow motion when viewing the video in the Photos app. Trim your videos and play some parts back in normal speed and other parts in slow motion. Select Super slow to dramatically highlight a specific part of the video.

Existing Lumia phone customers will enjoy this new feature. With new Lumia devices available soon, you’ll be able to capture slow-motion videos with even better quality

Windows 10 disksnapshot command prompt pop since I updated to build 10576

I've noticed a command prompt window popping up a lot called disksnapshot since I updated to 10576. Any time I've searched it online, I've only found things about cloning the HD for reimaging. Is this something built into Windows that sends information back to MS or did something evil sneak into my machine?

Other user in reddit  says, It is part of windows, so no need to worry about malware. Purpose is unclear though.

It runs via a scheduled task called DiskFootprint and other user says, it's known issue with 10576 - not a virus, just a background task that shouldn't be launching a command window.

Currently downloading the latest Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10586.

According to Insider Hub they fix this issue on the release  Insider Preview Build 10586.

The online hacktivist group Anonymous has Leaks Identities of 1000 KKK Members

The online hacktivist group Anonymous has Leaks identities of hundreds of Ku Klux Klan members.
As promised, Anonymous posted a link to a Pastebin account with the names, aliases, Google Plus profiles, Facebook accounts and other identifying information of roughly 1,000 individuals the group believes are members of the Ku Klux Klan.

The hackers behind the leak tweeted a link to a Pastebin on a Twitter account, Operation KKK (@Operation_KKK) believed to be controlled by them.

Ku Klux Klan (KKK) is classified as a White Supremacist Racist group by the Anti-Defamation League and the Southern Poverty Law Center, allegedly having total 5,000 to 8,000 members.

"We hope Operation KKK will, in part, spark a bit of constructive dialogue about race, racism, racial terror and freedom of expression, across group lines. Public discourse about these topics can be honest, messy, snarky, offensive, humbling, infuriating, productive, and serious all at once," Anonymous wrote in the Pastebin post.
"The reality is that racism usually does NOT wear a hood, but it does permeate our culture on every level. Part of the reason we have taken the hoods off of these individuals is not because of their identities, but because of what their hoods symbolize to us in our broader society."
However, the group has not published any personal information about the KKK members.

Anonymous also notes that the group collected the information of KKK members over 11 months through public documents, "digital espionage," interviews with experts and information from social media accounts of KKK affiliates.

Google Engineer has taken up a personal campaign against non-compliant USB-C

An engineer at Google has taken up a personal campaign against non-compliant USB-C adapter cables, warning of potential charging problems or device damage.

Benson Leung, who worked on Google’s latest Chromebook Pixel and Pixel C tablet, has been calling out the guilty cables in his reviews on Amazon. The issue lies solely with cables that have the new reversible USB Type-C connector on one end, and legacy Type-A or Type-B connectors on the other. As Leung notes, these cables must use a specific resistor value to meet compliance and charge safely.

USB-C’s reversible connector is a vast improvement over legacy USB, it does require an adapter cable to work with older chargers or peripherals. Cable makers are clearly trying to exploit this demand, but it appears that some are also cutting corners along the way. Early adopters of USB-C devices such as the Pixel,12-inch MacBook, or new Nexus phones will need to be extra cautious when buying additional cables from unknown brands.

The worst case scenario with these cables is they could damage the user’s hub, charger, or device. When plugged into a laptop such as the Chromebook Pixel, they may also fail to charge properly. “I have started reviewing USB cables on Amazon because I have gotten fed up with the early cables from 3rd party vendors that so blatantly flaunt the specification and I want to hold them to task,” Leung wrote on Google+.

Unfortunately, there’s no easy way for consumers to identify a non-compliant cable at the time of purchase. Leung has posted some instructions for Pixel users to run their own tests in developer mode, in case anyone wants to help with the campaign.

For now, it’s best to check Leung’s own reviews to weed out the bad actors. So far, he’s identified seven non-compliant adapter cables, from vendors CableCreation, Monba, Kupx, Juiced Systems, Orzly, and TechMatte. Leung has also been praising cables that meet the USB-C spec; those from Frieq, Belkin, and iOrange are safe bets.

NASA is hiring Astronauts for future space missions

Do you have what it takes to be an astronaut? , NASA opening the application process on Dec. 14, so we’ve debunked a few of the common myths about what it takes to become an astronaut: http://nasa.tumblr.com/post/132538793869/5-myths-about-becoming-an-astronaut

NASA want candidates with a bachelor's degree – or preferably an advanced degree – in engineering, biological science, physical science, or mathematics. Posted on their Press realease.

They’d also like you to have 1,000 hours of pilot-in-command experience in a jet aircraft or three years' experience in a “progressively responsible” related job.

As you can imagine, it’s a bit of a squeeze on a spacecraft, so it also helps if you’re average height. You’ll need to pass the NASA physical and have extremely good eyesight and blood pressure, too. It might sound tough, but not many jobs come with an all-expenses paid trip to space.

If you get selected, you’ll be flying on the International Space Station, the Orion deep-space exploration vehicle or two other spacecraft currently in development.

Watch Astronaut Recruitment:

NASA will start accepting applications from December 14 online and hopes to announce the successful candidates in mid-2017.

To date, NASA has selected more than 300 astronauts to fly on its increasingly challenging missions to explore space and benefit life on Earth. There are 47 astronauts in the active astronaut corps, and more will be needed to crew future missions to the space station and destinations in deep space.

This isn’t the first time NASA has held open applications. They held some in 2012 and received over 6,000 applications.

“This is an exciting time to be a part of America’s human space flight program,” said Brian Kelly, director of Flight Operations at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, in a statement.

“NASA has taken the next step in the evolution of our nation’s human spaceflight program – and our U.S. astronauts will be at the forefront of these new and challenging space flight missions. We encourage all qualified applicants to learn more about the opportunities for astronauts at NASA and apply to join our flight operations team.”

According to WIRED, based on the average number of applicants the chances of becoming an astronaut this way are less than 0.17 percent.

Supersonic travel Concorde rebirth possible

2003: The last ever Concorde passenger flight takes off from New York's JFK Airport en route to London.
Not to be a buzzkill, but there's a reason the Concorde stopped flying twelve years ago: Supersonic travel is expensive and people didn't want to pay for it.

The planes were making less money while facing daunting fiscal hurdles.
Make no mistake, if there's a robust market for these planes in the future, companies will build them.
Sometimes it's hard to distinguish economic viability from nostalgia.

A group called "Club Concorde" has raised £120 million ($186 million) to bring back the Concorde.
The organization -- which describes its members as "ex-captains, ex-charterers and people passionate about Concorde" -- hopes to get one of the decommissioned aircraft back in the skies by 2019, according to the Telegraph newspaper.

Why it shut down
Let's take a minute to remember the dire situation that shut the Concorde down back in 2003.
As the airline industry struggled to recover after the 9/11 attacks, a Paris Concorde crash on takeoff left 113 dead.
Passenger traffic was falling. Ticket prices were high: round-trip between London and New York was as high as $10,000.
Manufacturer Airbus said the planes would need an "enhanced maintenance program in the coming years."
Operator British Airways said that investment couldn't "be justified" in the current economy.

Supersonic travel Concorde rebirth possible
A marketing executive for Aerion Corporation named Jeff Miller told CNNMoney last year that a new generation of small supersonic planes could succeed where the 1960s-era Concorde failed.
Improvements in aerodynamics, engines and composite materials make a supersonic passenger jet rebirth possible because they will save fuel, and ultimately, money.
Aerion is developing a $110 million, 12-passenger business jet capable of hitting Mach 1.6 -- or close to 2,000 kilometers per hour.

Expected delivery of this new supersonic plane: 2022.
One small catch: they would travel a bit slower than the Concorde to cut costs.
What? Slower than a plane that was designed in the 1960s? What's the point?
Yep, the world sure is a sucker for the nostalgia surrounding the Concorde and supersonic flight.
It'll be interesting to see how the reality will take shape.

Who would fund it?
What would it take to design, build, test and get approval for a new supersonic airliner?
Back in the 1960s, the gigantic task took the power and wealth of the French and British governments, who paid for it and pushed it to fruition.
Estimated cost to develop and build the first four Concordes: about £1.134 billion ($1.6 billion), according to aerospaceweb.org.
Would governments or private companies be willing to spend that kind of money for a new supersonic airliner today?
Another big unknown: Could a supersonic airliner sustain itself economically?

The 10 Technology of ‘Back to the Future’ Oct 21, 2015 Is Here

In 1989, teenage time traveler Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) returned to theaters in Back to the Future Part II, the sequel to director Robert Zemeckis’s original sci-fi comedy classic. As the story unfolds, Marty and his temporal travel guide, Doctor Emmett Brown (Christopher Lloyd), flash forward in time to the exotic future environs of Oct. 21, 2015.

Alert readers will note the proximity of that particular date. So how does the movie’s conception of future sci-fi technology match up to our current reality?

Take a look at our heavy comparison of 2015s . (And no, neither suffers from any problems with the Earth’s gravitational pull.)

1. Hoverboards
Probably the single most iconic prop from the 1989 movie is Marty’s futuristic hoverboard, which updates the 1980s-style skateboard while removing that pesky tradition of wheels. Marty’s board in the movie floats freely over any surface, including water — kind of like a radically miniaturized hovercraft. Hoverboards are indeed a reality in 2015, though they’re nowhere near as versatile as Marty’s ride. The California-based startup Arx Pax just unveiled its Hendo 2.0 hoverboard, which levitates on a magnetic cushion atop specially prepared metallic surfaces and half pipes.

2. Flying Cars
Science fiction movies have given us flying cars before, but few are as cool as Doc Brown’s tricked-out, time-traveling DeLorean. (Well, one other flying car comes to mind.) In Back to the Future Part II, flying vehicles are commonplace circa 2015. In the current timeline we call reality, not so much — although you may be surprised at what some manufacturers are getting up to. For example, the MIT spinoff company Terrafugia has already built a street-legal (and FAA-approved) auto-airplane hybrid. It’s called the Transition, and it’s just one of several flying cars in various stages of development worldwide.

3. Trash Fusion
In the fictional 2015, Doc Brown powers his time-traveling DeLorean by way of a Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor, which converts household garbage directly into energy. Specifically, the device provides the 1.21 gigawatts needed to travel through the time-space continuum. Neat trick, that. Does such a device exist in the real 2015? Not precisely, although there is an entire biofuel industry dedicated to the underlying concept. Earlier this year, an outfit called Fulcrum BioEnergy announced plans for a factory that will turn household garbage into jet fuel and diesel gasoline.

4. Holographic Advertising
In the movie, Marty comes across a futuristic movie marquee advertising the latest installment of a long-running film franchise — Jaws 19 (directed by “Max Spielberg”). The billboard comes to life, swooping down on Marty in the form of a giant shark hologram. Once again, we find reality fast encroaching on fictional territory. The Austrian company TriLite Technologies is working on a line of “autostereoscopic” video billboards that the company says will enable outdoor 3D displays with no 3D glasses required. The technology has yet to be demonstrated, however — the image here is an artist’s conception.

5. Pepsi Perfect
Product placement, of course, is a cosmic force that knows no boundaries of time or space. When Marty orders up a futuristic Pepsi Perfect in the movie, he finds a vitamin-enriched formula in a space-age bottle with built-in robo-straw, or something. One of several companies taking advantage of Back to the Future Part II marketing opportunities, Pepsi has already distributed limited-edition Pepsi Perfect bottles at promotional events this year. On Oct. 21, 6,500 bottles of Pepsi Perfect will be available for purchase online for the low, low price of $20.15. (See what they did there?) Pepsi even made this disquieting retro-future video to hype the parallel timeline crossover.

6. Self-Tying Shoes
It’s a throwaway sight gag in the film, but one that has had a remarkable shelf life in the public imagination: Marty tries on a pair of fictional future Nike shoes and is pleasantly surprised when the laces tie themselves. As a technological breakthrough, it’s not a hoverboard or a flying car, but still — it would be kind of nice. Well, stay tuned. Nike designers have hinted that the company is indeed working on a 2015 release of the film’s Nike MAG shoes with, yes, “Power Lace” technology. The company has even filed a patent, evidently. You can read the full article  here: http://www.blogmytuts.net/2015/10/nike-will-release-marty-mcfly-self.html

7. Hi-Tech Trashcans
Littering is discouraged in the fictional future of 2015, to the degree that robotic mobile trashcans — called Litter Bugs — prowl the streets and follow pedestrians in a kind of preemptive-strike strategy. We don’t have roving garbage bots yet, but the old-school city trash can is actually getting pretty sophisticated in certain municipalities. The waste management company Bigbelly has deployed “smart” trash cans — including recycling and compost bins — in several major cities. The high-tech waste stations feature solar-powered compactors and networked sensors for communicating with trash trucks. Some are even being outfitted as urban Wi-fi hotspots.

8. Biometrics
When Back to the Future Part II was released, the field of biometric authentication — fingerprint readers, retinal scanners — was more fiction than science, at least in the realm of everyday applications. It was rather radical to see characters in the movie use their thumbprint to open locks or pay for cabs. Biometric systems are everywhere these days, of course. We’ve got facial-recognition algorithms in our cameras and fingerprint scanners on our phones. We’re likely to see even more of this in coming years, as new iterations of biometric technology replace traditional retail and authentication systems.

9. VR Headsets
During one scene in the fictional 2015 of Back to the Future Part II, Marty Jr. and his sister wear “video glasses” to the dinner table so they can watch TV and take video calls while multitasking the usual family time obligations. Yeah, that’s hitting a little close to home. The film’s flash-forward conception of head-mounted perpetual connectivity seems eerily prescient when compared with something like Google Glass. The McFly family’s gizmos also resemble the next wave of full-featured VR headsets — like the Oculus Rift and its competitors — expected to hit retail shelves in force early next year.

10. Camera Drones
When bad guy Biff is arrested in one of the film’s 2015 sequences, a USA Today camera drone descends to record the incident. Look closely and you’ll see the clunky-looking drone even has a logo sticker on the side that reads: “Always There First.” Spooky. In our actual 2015, camera drones are indeed crowding the skies, causing weird problems and prompting fierce debate about issues of surveillance, safety and public policy. Just this week, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced plans to require even recreational UAV operators to register their drones.

Latest Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10576 Microsoft Edge Support Miracast and DLNA

Almost all the latest computers and laptops come with a Miracast and DLNA feature support, however, it is supported only if you are running on Windows 8.1 or Windows 10. To be able to mirror the screen on a third-party device, you need to make sure that the source as well as the receiver have Miracast support. If the manufacturer of the third-party device has mentioned that the device supports wireless display, then you can be rest assured of the Miracast compatibility with the device.

DLNA stands for Digital Living Network Alliance, the trade group founded by Sony in 2003.The DLNA defines standards that enable devices to share stuff - photos, video, music - with each other, and it has more than 200 members responsible for more than 9,000 different DLNA devices.

DLNA hardware is designed to work on a home network. It doesn't matter whether that network is wired or wireless, although with Wi-Fi you'll need to ensure that your network has sufficient bandwidth for what you want to do. We'd recommend 802.11n Wi-Fi for serious home sharing.

Windows 8.1 was launched with a lot of new features and one of them was the support for the Miracast Wireless Display which lets you mirror the display of your computer on a third-party device supporting the Miracast feature. The third-party device can be a projector, a TV set or a media streaming device.

Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Miracast™ is a groundbreaking solution for seamlessly displaying multimedia between devices, without cables or a network connection since 2013. Miracast adapter (sometimes called a "dongle") that plugs into an HDMI port.

Miracast is a wireless display standard designed for mirroring a smartphone, tablet, or PC’s screen to a television without requiring any physical HDMI cables. It’s becoming more widespread with each passing day.

On Windows 10, the project option can directly be accessed by pressing the Window + P keys together.

If your computer supports the Miracast display, then you will see an option as Add a wireless display. Click on the option and it will start searching for the new displays which are available in the given range. Once you see the desired device on the search results, click on the device name.

Windows will now install the required drivers on the device and within a few seconds you will see the third part display displaying your device.

Once you are done with the task and you want to disconnect the device, you can do so by either disabling the Mirror feature on your projector or TV or you can do the same from your computer by going to the project screen (Windows + P) and clicking on the disconnect option.

Well, that’s all in this tutorial, features like this come in very handy when you have a need and this is another such feature which is very useful at times.

New Features for Windows 10 Build 10576

Media Casting in Microsoft Edge: You can now use Microsoft Edge to cast video, picture, and audio content from your browser to any Miracast and DLNA enabled device on your network.

We’ve got a few scenarios for you to try out:

•Cast a video from YouTube: Go to YouTube.com in Microsoft Edge. Click on the "…" menu and the top left, and select "Cast media to device" and select the Miracast or DLNA device you want to cast to.

•Cast a Facebook photo album: Login to Facebook in Microsoft Edge and click on the first photo in one of your photo albums to cast. Click on the "…" menu and the top left, and select "Cast media to device" and select the Miracast or DLNA device you want to cast to. Navigate through your photo album by clicking on the forward and backward buttons.

Cast your music from Pandora: Login to Pandora in Microsoft Edge to get to your music and click on the "…" menu and the top left, and select "Cast media to device" and select the Miracast or DLNA device you want to cast to.

Try this feature out and let us know what you think.

Please note: Casting protected content (content from places like Netflix and Hulu) is not supported.

Your laptop must support Miracast
