This tiny motor running at 150,000 RPM speed could keep satellites on course

A newly invented motor that’s both tiny and powerful goes hand in hand with that vision, providing compact spacecraft with the ability to adjust their position without using a drop of fuel.

Here comes the science! It’s not practical, especially in small, long-mission spacefaring units like satellites and probes, to use fuel for much of anything except critical accelerations and maneuvers. After all, you can’t exactly top off a New Horizons when it runs low on hydrazine. So in order to make small adjustments to a craft’s attitude, reaction wheels are often employed.

Basically, these things are flywheels mounted inside the satellite that spin at a constant speed — and varying that speed (say by slowing counterclockwise spin on the Y axis), results in a reactive force from the satellite. Every action has its reaction, remember? And in this case, the reaction is that the satellite rotates around its center of mass proportionally to how much the wheel’s speed is altered.

Like most things that rotate really fast, reaction wheels use ball bearings. But these bearings wear down over time and must be sealed carefully against vacuum and other things that might damage them. The Hubble has had two wheels replaced, and Kepler has lost functionality because of blown wheel mechanisms. Not only that, but even under nominal operation, the slight imperfections in every bearing add up, creating vibrations that can interfere with scientific instruments.

Arda Tüysüz at Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich found solution and it will be better way

This new motor use magnets instead of bearings..

By magnetically levitating the wheel, all kinds of problems are avoided and new possibilities unlocked. For one thing, losing the bearings means there’s no need for a vacuum-sealed chamber, lubrication or anything like that. There’s no vibration, nothing to replace. And because friction and mechanical wear are trivial in a free-floating rotor, it can be spun faster than a traditional reaction wheel — a lot faster.

While mechanically operated wheels generally spin at a few thousand RPM, this floating one can be dialed all the way up to an incredible 150,000 RPM. This means 10- or 20-fold increased power from a motor the same size as a mechanical one — but perhaps more importantly, it means you can get the same power levels as before from a motor a tenth the size.

For small spacecraft this could be a revelation: compact, efficient and powerful rotational motors that never wear out. Freeing up even a few cubic inches is a huge boon for just about any mission — that’s space that could be used for another instrument, a battery or fuel, or left empty to reduce launch mass.

The European Space Agency has expressed interest in the system, even though at present the motor is still in prototype phase. Tüysüz and his colleagues from ETH Zurich and Celerotron, published the details of their creation in a paper presented at a conference in Capri.

How Facebook and Apple helped bust the Man behind Kickass

KickassTorrents (KAT), a torrent website that has surpassed The Pirate Bay as the place to go for unofficial copies of movies and TV shows, appears to be in jeopardy.

Homeland Security has already asked that the seven KAT domains named in the complaint are forfeited for their role in facilitating piracy. Verisign is expected to seize the .com and .tv domains, while Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) requests will be sent to registrars in Costa Rica, Tonga and the Philippines. Homeland Security then expects those sites to be redirected to a server of its choosing.

There were 7 domain related to KAT has been busted by U.S government.

Right now, KickassTorrents appears to still be up, at least via the numerous proxy services that support it. However, it's probably only a matter of time until it becomes a lot harder to find. While investigators already had a lot of evidence before they added the iTunes transaction to the mix, the idea that a legal media purchase could be the undoing of a piracy king kinda breaks the irony meter.

How... the Federal U.S government bust the 30-year-old Ukrainian Artem Vaulin a.k.a "tirm," owner and operator of KickassTorrents (KAT), who was arrested and charged in Poland for criminal copyright infringement and money laundering.

Apple's involvement

Using basic website-tracking services, Der-Yeghiayan was able to uncover (via a reverse DNS search) the hosts of seven apparent KAT website domains: kickasstorrents.com, kat.cr, kickass.to, kat.ph, kastatic.com, thekat.tv and kickass.cr. This dug up two Chicago IP addresses, which were used as KAT name servers for more than four years. Agents were then able to legally gain a copy of the server's access logs (explaining why it was federal authorities in Chicago that eventually charged Vaulin with his alleged crimes).

Using similar tools, Homeland Security investigators also performed something called a WHOIS lookup on a domain that redirected people to the main KAT site. A WHOIS search can provide the name, address, email and phone number of a website registrant. In the case of kickasstorrents.biz, that was Artem Vaulin from Kharkiv, Ukraine.

Der-Yeghiayan was able to link the email address found in the WHOIS lookup to an Apple email address that Vaulin purportedly used to operate KAT. It's this Apple account that appears to tie all of pieces of Vaulin's alleged involvement together.

On July 31st 2015, records provided by Apple show that the me.com account was used to purchase something on iTunes. The logs show that the same IP address was used on the same day to access the KAT Facebook page. After KAT began accepting Bitcoin donations in 2012, $72,767 was moved into a Coinbase account in Vaulin's name. That Bitcoin wallet was registered with the same me.com email address.

Under Cover Ads Link to Facebook

From November 2015, an undercover IRS Special Agent spoke with a KAT representative about hosting an advertisement that would direct visitors to an undercover site. An agreement was made and the ad, which purportedly advertised a program to study in the United States, would be placed on individual torrent listings for $300 per day. When it finally went live on March 14th 2016, a link appeared underneath the torrent download buttons for five days. It was a short campaign, but it was enough to link KAT to a Latvian bank account, one that received €28 million ($31 million) in deposits -- mainly from advertising payments -- between August 2015 and March 2016.

This back-and-forth also enabled investigators to identify an important point of contact: the email address pr@kat.cr. Not only was it linked to website enquiries, it was the email associated with KAT's social media presences such as Facebook. Agents were able to obtain records from Facebook that showed the "official.KAT.fanclub." page was almost certainly associated with KAT.

Telecom Verizon Set to Buy Yahoo for $5 Billion

Verizon is closing in on a deal to buy Yahoo’s core business for about $5 billion, according to sources familiar with the talks.

The telco giant has long been considered the favorite to buy Yahoo’s internet assets, which it wants to combine with AOL, which it bought last year for $4.4 billion.

Part of Verizon’s pitch to Yahoo’s board is that it is the logical choice, since it is already operating a similar business. The concept of such a deal is to combine its advertising tech assets and become the third alternative to leaders Facebook and Google. Both companies also have extensive media assets.

"If Verizon bid that high, they definitely got it, because they’re the safe bet for Yahoo," said a rival bidder.

Founded in 1995, Yahoo! was once the brightest star of the Web. But when its rivals including Google, Facebook and even few-years-old companies like Snapchat and WhatsApp have won over users, Yahoo! has not been able to maintain that glory.

Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer - formerly a Google executive - has spent billions on acquisitions so far to improve Yahoo's mobile products, expanding its audience by acquiring Tumblr and doubling down on premium media content.

But Mayer struggled to slow the overall ad sales decline of Yahoo! and failed.

Last Monday, the company accepted that its revenue fell 15% in the second quarter, after excluding accounting adjustments, and its operating profit fell 64%.

So, after keeping investors at bay for years, Mayer said Yahoo! would explore strategic alternatives, including selling its core assets.

Verizon has long been considered a suitable buyer for Yahoo’s Internet assets, which the telecom giant wants to combine with AOL - the American global mass media corporation bought by Verizon last year for $4.4 Billion.

Now, the two companies are in one-on-one discussions, and Verizon will reportedly acquire Yahoo! for about $5 Billion.

With the success in the wireless industry, Verizon has been buying up Internet and ad technology companies, like AOL, to compete in a mobile advertising market dominated by two big players, Google and Facebook.
And for this same reason, it is now buying Yahoo!’s ad and content businesses.

Yahoo! has millions of users, and a collection of websites like Flickr, Tumblr, Yahoo Finance, and Yahoo Sports, including some digital-ad technology like Flurry and BrightRoll.

Since the growth of Verizon’s traditional telecom business has been decreased, companies like Yahoo! and AOL would necessarily help Verizon make money from digital advertising on mobile devices.

Tim Armstrong and Mayer worked together at Google many years ago. And most importantly, as recently as two years ago, Mayer had rejected Armstrong’s efforts to merge the two companies. AOL went with Verizon, which would now be swallowing up Yahoo

Glassmaker Corning just unveiled Gorilla Glass 5 as thin as 0.4mm and 0.6mm thick

Glassmaker Corning just unveiled its newest version of Gorilla Glass, the chemically strengthened super glass.

The new glass is the successor to Corning Gorilla Glass 4, which was introduced in the fall of 2014. Gorilla Glass 4 was said to be twice as tough as the previous version of its glass and twice as likely to survive drops onto uneven surfaces — but only from about a meter high.

The new Gorilla Glass 5 was formulated to improve drop performance from gadgets that are dropped onto rough surfaces from certain heights — specifically, waist height to shoulder height. Selfie-fumblers rejoice: Corning says Gorilla Glass 5 survives up to 80 percent of the time when dropped from 1.6 meters (waist height to shoulder).

Internal research done by Corning showed that 85 percent of smartphone owners have dropped their phones at least once in the past year, and that two-thirds of those drops happening from waist height to shoulder height.

The first is that the 80 percent survival rate Corning achieved in tests, was with pieces of glass that were 0.6mm thick. Corning now makes glass as thin as 0.4mm, so Smartphone that opt for thinner glass or go with more rigid smartphone designs may see different results.

Gorilla Glass 5 is in production now and the company says we should hear more about it "in the next few months." So, there's a decent chance it will be ready just in time for all of the fall hardware events.

Gorilla Glass first started showing up in consumer electronics devices in 2007. Corning says 4.5 billion device units have been shipped with its glass to date. Manufacturers like Samsung, HTC, Lenovo, Huawei, LG, HP, and Asus have all made devices using the glass, along with other unnamed device makers.

KickassTorrents domains seized after alleged founder and operator is arrested in Poland

Kickass Torrents (KAT) was one of the most visited websites on the internet and brought in tens of millions of dollars a year in advertising.

Now, the website is no more.

It has disappeared from the internet and its 30-year-old alleged founder and operator, Ukranian Artem Vaulin, has been arrested and is facing extradition to the United States.

KickassTorrents was a website, founded in 2008, that provided a directory for torrent files and magnet links to facilitate peer-to-peer file sharing using the BitTorrent protocol. The domain names KAT used — and there are several — are in the process of being seized by the US Government.

The world's largest and most notorious BitTorrent distribution site. Artem Vaulin, a 30-year-old man from Kharkiv, Ukraine, was arrested today in Poland on behalf of the US, which has requested his extradition for crimes related to running the site. Vaulin now faces two counts of criminal copyright infringement, one count of conspiracy to commit criminal copyright infringement, and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering. All of the sites domains are in the process of being seized, while access to the site appears to have halted.

"Vaulin is charged with running today’s most visited illegal file-sharing website, responsible for unlawfully distributing well over $1 billion of copyrighted materials," wrote Leslie R. Caldwell, the assistant attorney general of the Justice Department's criminal division, in a statement. "In an effort to evade law enforcement, Vaulin allegedly relied on servers located in countries around the world and moved his domains due to repeated seizures and civil lawsuits. His arrest in Poland, however, demonstrates again that cybercriminals can run, but they cannot hide from justice."

Torrent sites have long held that they are compliant with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, and therefore also protected by its safe harbor provisions. Because sites like KickassTorrents only allow users to provide links to pirated content, the defense goes that those sites should not be held responsible for what users do with that freedom. However, authorities say Vaulin's operation often skirted takedown requests using lengthy demands.

When asked by Hollywood movie studios or other intellectual property holders to remove links to copyrighted content on the site, KickassTorrents is said to have rejected takedown notices based on meeting an entire list of sometimes arcane and confusing criteria, writes Ars Technica. Demands included showing proof of both copyright ownership and that the content in question is in fact legally copyrighted, but KickassTorrents never appeared to indicate which one of those requests was not fulfilled when responding to notices. The federal affidavit says KickassTorrents was also taking in more than $16 million in advertising revenue as of this year.

Can KAT respawn again in World Wide Web? For me Yes they have many mirror site LOL just like Pirate Bay ....-the website managed to reappear every time after shutdown, but The Pirate Bay claimed last year that it ran the notorious website on 21 "raid-proof" virtual machines, which means if the police raid one location, the site would hardly take few hours to get back in action.

BUT.... there are several mirror site — are in the process of being seized by the US Government.

Mozilla's Firefox browser will start blocking Flash content

Mozilla's Firefox browser will start blocking Flash content "not essential to the user experience" from August 2016, the company said today, helping to hasten the achingly slow demise of the ageing plugin. The move is the beginning of the end of Flash in Firefox — Mozilla

The company says its August change is expected to reduce Flash-related crashes and hangs in Firefox by up to 10 percent, as well as giving users "enhanced security, improved battery life, faster page load, and better browser responsiveness." Data shared as part of today's announcement shows that Firefox plugin crashes dropped when both YouTube and Facebook switched from Flash video as default to HTML5, part of a downward trend that coincides with Flash's slow retirement.

Mozilla is following the lead of many of its tech peers in phasing out Flash, including Google, Microsoft, and Apple, all of whom outlined plans to stop showing the ageing plugin by default in their browsers earlier this year. Adobe itself advised people to stop using its own software last December, but Flash still has its claws into many corners of the internet, making a swift death tricky.

Python map can show the exact location of every pokémon around you

Developer Ahmed Almutawa began playing with that access on Saturday and within a few hours had plotted the data onto a map. He posted the project on GitHub and Reddit, then went to bed. When he woke up, people had already begun swarming to it. -There's been like 46 contributors,

The project emerged from a subreddit dedicated to developers playing with Pokémon Go. In there, someone figured out how to pull raw data out of the game, including the locations of gyms, the items at individual pokéstops, and where pokémon are appearing.

One that some may call cheating, but also makes finding pokémon insanely easy: it's a Google Map that displays the location of every pokémon around you.

There are step-by-step instructions if you want to use it, but be warned, you'll have to open up the command line.
Link : CLICK HERE!!

If you get through that process, what you'll find is a Google Map that basically offers a bird's-eye view of every nearby pokémon, pokéstop, and gym. With a bit of code, you can tell the map to filter by specific pokémon or pokéstops that include the item you want.

Is this kill the fun in the game?. or your now a member of Team Rocket ?  Prepare for Trouble and make Double....

Apple OS Can Be Hacked Remotely With Just A Message

Cisco Talos senior researcher Tyler Bohan, who discovered this critical Stagefright-type bug in iOS, described the flaw as "an extremely critical bug, comparable to the Android Stagefright as far as exposure goes."

Just a year ago vulnerabilities in Android allowed hackers to quietly spy on nearly a billion phones with one specially-crafted text.

iPhone owners should now take note: a security researcher today warned there are comparable vulnerabilities to those Stagefright bugs in iOS allowing completely silent, almost undetectable password theft from iPhones. Apple AAPL +0.14% has patched the flaws in iOS 9.3.3, however, and users have been advised to update as soon as they can.

All an attacker needs to do is create an exploit for the bug and send it via a multimedia message (MMS) or iMessage inside a Tagged Image File Format (TIFF).

Once the message received on the victim's device, the hack would launch.

The critical bug (CVE-2016-4631) actually resides in ImageIO – API used to handle image data – and works across all widely-used Apple operating systems, including Mac OS X, tvOS, and watchOS.

The attack could also be delivered over Safari; all that would be required would be for the user to visit a website containing the malicious code and for the browser to parse the exploit. No interaction with the site would be required.

Bohan described the issue as “an extremely critical bug, comparable to the Android Stagefright as far as exposure goes.” “The receiver of an MMS cannot prevent exploitation and MMS is a store and deliver mechanism, so I can send the exploit today and you will receive it whenever your phone is online,” he added.

In both the cases, no explicit user interaction would be required to launch the attack since many applications (like iMessage) automatically attempt to render images when they are received in their default configurations.
It is quite difficult for the victim to detect the attack, which if executed, could leak victims' authentication credentials stored in memory such as Wi-Fi passwords, website credentials, and email logins, to the attacker.

Since iOS include sandbox protection to prevent hackers exploiting one part of the OS to control the whole thing, a hacker would require a further iOS jailbreak or root exploit to take total control of the complete iPhone.

However, Mac OS X does not have sandbox protection that could allow an attacker to access the Mac computer remotely with the victim's passwords, potentially making users of Apple's PCs completely vulnerable to the attack.

Apple has patched this critical issue in iOS version 9.3.3, along with patches for other 42 vulnerabilities, including memory corruption bugs in iOS' CoreGraphics that helps render 2D graphics across those OSes, according to Apple's advisory.

He also found memory corruption issues in iOS’ CoreGraphics, which helps render 2D graphics across those OSes. Another serious flaws patched by Apple this week resided in FaceTime, permitting anyone on the same network as a user to spy on their conversations. As per Apple’s description, “an attacker in a privileged network position may be able to cause a relayed call to continue transmitting audio while appearing as if the call terminated.” Martin Vigo, a security engineer at Salesforce, uncovered the bug.

Details on all 43 flaws addressed in 9.3.3 can be found on Apple’s advisory. The tech titan also put out advisories for iTunes on Windows, Safari, tvOS, watchOS and OS X El Capitan

So users are advised to patch their devices as it would not take enough time for bad actors to take advantage of the vulnerabilities, which are now known.

ESET spotted Malicious fake Pokémon Go apps on Google Play Store

Malicious Pokémon Go apps have even made their ways into the official Google Play Store.

Researchers from popular antivirus firm ESET have spotted at least three fake Pokémon Go apps on the Google Play Store. Of them, the one titled "Pokemon Go Ultimate" posed the biggest threat to Android users.

Pokemon Go Ultimate renames itself  "PI Network" and deliberately locks the screen of the victims’ devices immediately after being installed, rending the devices unusable.
The only ways to get the infected phone unlocked are to remove the device's battery or reboot the device via the Android Device Manager.

Even after restarting the device, the app removes itself from the device's app menu, but still continues to run in the background and silently clicks on porn advertisements in an attempt to generate ad revenue for its creators.
The worse: Researchers say that the malicious app is just one step away from being Ransomware.

Although Google has removed the fake Pokémon GO app, users who had already downloaded the app would need to uninstall PI Network manually through their device's application manager.

The rest of the two fraudulent Pokémon apps produced fake security messages in an attempt to trick users into paying for an antivirus service that actually does not exist.
Currently, all three apps seem to be removed from Google Play, but be on guard: more are likely to show up in the coming days.

So, before head out to catch 'em all, BEWARE!! just make sure you are downloading the legitimate Pokémon Go app.

Remember to be alert at all times. Stay aware of your surroundings..

Twitter has permanently suspended Milo Yiannopoulos after Leslie Jones Ghostbusters abuse

Twitter has permanently suspended the account of Breitbart tech blog editor Milo Yiannopoulos, a day after the infamous internet troll helped incite his followers to send a torrent of racist abuse to Ghostbusters star Leslie Jones.

The expulsion of Yiannopoulos, who counted more than 300,000 followers on the service, comes just one day after he urged on a hateful mob that harassed ‘Ghostbusters’ actress Leslie Jones to the point that she quit Twitter.

Jones received a barrage sexist and racist messages from users, including fake messages made to look like they came from her account. With little way to fight back, she decided to quit the service on Monday “with tears and a very sad heart.”

When Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey responded to one of Jones’ tweets:

Milo then lost his verification badge (check logo), which Twitter typically gives to members of the media and celebrities, in January, which only seemed to amp up his interest in offending Twitter’s management and many who use the service.

Twitter confirmed that Yiannopoulos would be kept off its service for good in the future, telling BuzzFeed that it would find any new account he creates in the future, and suspend it.

In a statement, Twitter alluded about to the abuse directed at Leslie Jones, but didn't refer to Yiannopoulos directly. "People should be able to express diverse opinions and beliefs on Twitter," the statement reads. "But no one deserves to be subjected to targeted abuse online, and our rules prohibit inciting or engaging in the targeted abuse or harassment of others. Over the past 48 hours in particular, we've seen an uptick in the number of accounts violating these policies and have taken enforcement actions against these accounts, ranging from warnings that also require the deletion of Tweets violating our policies to permanent suspension."

U.S. Internet giants Facebook Inc., Twitter Inc., Google and Microsoft Corp. pledged to tackle online hate speech in less than 24 hours as part of a joint commitment with the European Union to combat the use of social media by terrorists.

ZTE Zmax Pro comes with compelling features at super low price $99

ZTE has just announced the ZTE ZMax Pro. A 6-inch phablet with a fingerprint scanner, huge battery, and great specs for the price under $100.

For that jaw-dropping price, you'll get a sturdy body with a nice soft-touch rear, octa-core Snapdragon 617 CPU with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.

Snapped with the 13-megapixel rear camera wasn't the most brightly colored or sharpest, the 5-MP front camera also looked par for the course.

Great color combination and finish on the phone's back, as well as its vibrant display.
The camera and fingerprint sensor on the rear have pretty copper accents on the otherwise blue back cover, which is a uniquely pleasant aesthetic.

The Zmax Pro also offers dual-SIM card slots, one of which doubles as a microSD holder for those with just one SIM card. It also packs a generous 3400 mAh battery that supports Quick Charge, a USB Type-C charging port and will run Android Marshmallow.

The ZMax will not be available on AT&T like its successor. Instead, ZTE have have a deal with Metro PCS. The phone will hit Metro PCS stores starting August 1 with pre-registration open now. The first 5000 pre-registered customers who buy the phone will be mailed a free leather flip case. Will just wait and see if this handset lands on PH mobile market.

ZTE says the ZMax Pro breaks records for the best spec'd device under $100 and it's a better value than the costlier Samsung Galaxy J7 and the LG Stylo 2 because it either matches or outperforms the others.
"Affordability is part of our DNA," said ZTE's CEO Lixin Cheng. He said the high-end phone market is shrinking, and that making more affordable devices is the company's mission.

The electronics maker says there are more than 30 million active users of ZTE devices, and that it sold 15 million handsets in 2015. As one of the few affordable phablets in the market, and at this super low price, the Zmax Pro stands a good chance of owning this niche segment of the smartphone market.

How to remove Viglink or vlr tynt - Is it a Malware or What?

I notice there is something wrong in my site -  just interrupt my work because I noticed api.viglink.com or cdn.viglink.com in my browser’s status bar?  I also got the viglink.com status bar message while browsing.

Please read on…

Here is a screenshot on viglink.com and vlr.tynt.com from my computer:

cdn.viglink.com connection my Chrome browser say Deceptive site ahead = Phishing Site LOL

E'm Panic!! I have bad experience with RED warning last year with some ADS = ADWARE

The following are some of the status bar messages I see in my browser’s status bar when I try to click my Google + Share button

Waiting for viglink.com…
Transferring data from viglink.com…
Looking up viglink.com…
Read viglink.com
Connected to viglink.com…

So what I did , I take a look at my HTML/CSS in Google+ line code but....... nothing wrongs with my code  there is no viglink code in my HTML meaning the source is from the outside??  E'm thinking addons  if I installed or potentially unwanted programs was installed on purpose, and from time to time I check if something new has appeared, such as pop-up windows, new tabs in the browsers, injected ads on website that usually don’t show ads, or if some new files have been saved to the hard-drive.

SO I search for a solution what is "viglink"  and I found out  I'm not alone.....

amung.us script is loaded with vlr tynt I found a post in wjunction
Accodring to the post its the new additional feature of whos.amung.us  - actual copy rate off a site using tynt #number of active user.

A person from viglink post a solution how to remove it..

So I visit the said site (http://www.viglink.com/opt-out/)  to op-out my site.... I so it was Enabled  so I Disabled it..

If you look at the Viglink Logo it looks familiar LOL  Google Drive... Yes Google Ventures that's how it get on my site....

Here is about  Viglink

At VigLink, we believe the future of marketing lies within the untapped potential of digital content covering commercial products across the Web. We empower influential publishers who produce this content to connect enthusiastic consumers with the products they love from the brands who value them the most. We accomplish this directly through publishers’ words, without need for an ad.

By identifying commercial products mentioned within a publisher’s content, VigLink automatically invigorates those terms by transforming them into hyperlinks whose destinations are determined in real-time, advertiser-bid auctions. Yes, hyperlinks, the defining feature of the Web from the very start. The literal “H” in HTML. Every time a clicked link takes a person from one destination to another, value is created. However, that value has never been fairly priced or available for purchase at scale. Until now.

Founded in 2009, VigLink is located in heart of San Francisco and backed by top investors including Google Ventures, Emergence Capital, and RRE. VigLink manages a publisher network of over 2 million sites and apps, as well as an advertiser network of over 50,000 brands and merchants.

But that's strange when they add redirect link without permission. They should contact the owner and ask him about this sittuation.  -- Angry

Meet the Pokedrone - Drone That Will Help You Cheat on Pokémon GO

We saw One Pokémon Go player found a sneaky way around by strapping his Android to a DJI Phantom drone and mirroring his phone screen on his laptop using a program called AirDroid.

Dutch company TRNDlabs developed a device that acts as an external camera and captures Pokemon right where you can’t – the Pokedrone.

Instead of using the smartphone’s camera and GPS, the “Pokemon Go” app uses the Pokedrone’s. Addionally, players don’t need to become experts at drone-flying because the device has auto take-off and land functions.

“TRNDlabs is serious about the new development that saves you from tying your phone on your dog’s back or taping it to your DJI drone which probably isn’t a basic tool in your household anyway,” the company said. “Not least, Pokédrone keeps you dry avoiding walking into the lake and soak your phone!”

According to Asia One, TRNDlabs’ main issue is the use of the prefix “Poke-” and the Pokedrone’s integration into the primary app. Let’s hope they don’t run into any legal issues.

In addition, the company expressed hopes in working with Nintendo directly, The Verge said. Nintendo neither developed nor published “Pokemon Go,” but it owns a third of Pokemon Company.

While the price and official release date has yet to be announced, TRNDlabs founder Gerard Nieuwenhuis said it should be ready beginning next year.

“We are working round the clock on making this an actual product,” Nieuwenhuis said.

Samsung is buying a stake in a Chinese electric carmaker BYD

The South Korea tech giant is buying a stake in Chinese automaker BYD that, at least at first, will help boost the two companies' businesses in parts for electric cars and smartphones. What's next may be more important, however. Samsung says that the two will talk about possible partnerships in "various businesses" -- don't be surprised if they work closely together.

Samsung said it has not finalised how much it would spend to buy the stake, nor how big a holding it would take in BYD, which specializes in electric vehicles and is backed by Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Inc.

The Korea Economic Daily reported earlier on Friday that Samsung agreed to buy new shares worth 3 billion yuan ($449 million) in BYD, which would give Samsung a 4 percent stake in the automaker.

BYD confirmed in a stock exchange filing that Samsung Electronics had participated in their non-public issuance, but did not disclose the amount of its investment as the offering had yet to close. The automaker, however, denied Samsung Electronics would buy a 4 percent stake as reported in the Korea Economic Daily.

The electric car market is quickly heating up, and Samsung could ride the bandwagon by supplying BYD with everything from batteries to processors. As it stands, Samsung might not want to sit on the sidelines when its big rival Apple is reportedly designing an EV of its own.

SpaceX made a Pokémon Go joke at its fifth rocket launch broadcast

SpaceX just launched and landed another Falcon 9 rocket, the fifth time the company has pulled off the feat. SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket launched the Dragon spacecraft to low Earth orbit to deliver critical cargo to the International Space Station (ISS) for NASA. But this launch was different from the others — not because it was the second time the company landed a rocket back at Cape Canaveral, and not because the company was helping to deliver a crucial docking adapter to the International Space Station. The first time SpaceX broadcast a rocket launch in the post-Pokémon Go era, and the company did not waste the opportunity.

Right before the very end of the rocket launch broadcast, a cartoon version of the company's Dragon capsule appeared on the screen, surrounded by the Pokémon Go interface that many of us are now oh so familiar with. All three hosts mocked swiping Pokéballs at the spacecraft until the video feed cut off. It was a decent gag, or at the very least it was no worse than the myriad jokes the rest of the internet has been making over the last two weeks. (If you listen closely, you can hear one of the hosts celebrate the gag a bit early. "That was money," he says, just before the broadcast really ends.)

By the way, the Dragon spacecraft apparently has a CP of 2024. You know, the same year that Elon Musk says SpaceX will send the first humans to Mars.
