Hacker’s List, launched in November 2014, received more than 500 hacking jobs in the period of just three months. Anyone can post or bid on a hacking project listed on the website.

There are around 2740 anonymous hacker profiles displayed on the website who are ready to accomplish hacks for you if hired. Prices of hackers range from $28 to $300, and full hacking projects range in prices of $100 to $5000.

Payments are done anonymously — collection of fees when tasks are completed, nobody knows the identity of those involved in doing the work.

Every user registered on “Hacker’s List” website choose anonymous usernames in order to keep their actual identity hidden. However, there are physiological possibilities that most users keep their username same for multiple websites like I do ahaha....

Hacker’s List claims to provide "ethical hacking" services and asks users not to "use the service for any illegal purposes," as laid out in its 10-page long terms and conditions section.

How do I know the hacker I choose is legitimate?

Hacker's List is meant to provide only the best people and services. To do this we must review each Hacker that comes along to be hired.

•     All freelances have to be approved by a Hacker's List Administrator before they are allowed to submit proposals.

•     Hackers also have to maintain a minimum of a 3 star rating. Hackers that over charge or have a record of disputes are removed from our site.  

•     As another way to keep bad hackers for hire and scammers out: We charge a percentage of all projects the hacker takes. Those hackers with low ratings pay a higher percentage. This encourages hackers to have the highest level of service to maximize their earning potential. 

However, the activities listed on the site are clearly illegal in some cases, so is it providing a so-called white hat hacking service?

Below are the stats: 

• 23% of projects relate to Facebook hacking, often involving a business dispute or jilted romance.
• 14% of projects relate to Google account hacking, also involving a business dispute or jilted romance.
• 8% of projects involve students asking for University’s computer systems to be hacked in order to improve their exam grades.
• 3% of projects involve burying some embarrassing tidbit, essentially an ersatz Right to be Forgotten.

Toshiba's Windows 10 laptops will feature a dedicated Cortana button

The Cortana key will be on all of Toshiba's Windows 10 PCs—“across the board, top to bottom,” according to Jeff Barney, the general manager and vice president in charge of Toshiba America’s PC business. Toshiba's Windows 10 laptops will feature a dedicated Cortana button, for launching Microsoft's digital assistant from your keyboard.

The key will sit in the upper left area, near the function keys, he said. Triggering it will launch Cortana, Microsoft’s digital assistant.

But on both the phone and the PC, Cortana’s ability to “actively listen” has been problematic, with difficulty picking up and reacting to the use of the “Hey Cortana” phrase that triggers it. In practice,
it's been far more successful when manually triggered.

2014 active listening was added to Cortana, enabling it to be triggered with the phrase: “Hey Cortana,” even across the room and without the need to touch the phone. After the trigger phrase is spoken, Cortana can be controlled normally for tasks like setting a reminder, asking a question, or launching an app. 

 If a user wants to use the Cortana feature on Windows 10, he or she has either had to tap the Cortana icon on the screen or move the mouse to trigger the service. Placing a dedicated Cortana button on the keyboard is a smart idea, especially if the service proves to be a hit.  Frankly, I’d be willing to bet that Microsoft also releases a mouse that does the same thing. (Logitech, a rival peripherals maker, declined to comment.)

The idea behind the dedicated Cortana button, Barney said, is to make sure that “Cortana is listening when you want it to.” The company has added high-fidelity array mics to its PCs to improve Cortana’s ability to understand what you say.

One small click for Toshiba, one giant leap for the keyboard

A dedicated Cortana key would be one of the more significant changes to the keyboard since the Windows key was added at about the time Windows 95 was introduced, in 1995. Although Microsoft added touch support for Windows 8, most external monitors still don’t support it, leaving the mouse and keyboard still as the most popular ways of interacting with your PC.

Voice commands could help change that. Even with a keyboard dock, a dedicated hardware Cortana button would be within easy reach of a PC user’s hands.

As Bob O’Donnell of TECHnalysis Research points out, Toshiba is a niche PC vendor—fifth in the United States, with a 6.5 percent share, according to IDC—that could use an idea like this to distinguish itself from the competition. And the company may do just that: So far, no other PC vendor, including Hewlett-Packard and Dell, have publicly indicated that they, too, plan to use a hardware-based Cortana button.

Ask Toolbar will be marked as “Unwanted Software” (or Malware) by Microsoft’s Security Tools

Microsoft security products will detect programs with browser search protection functionality from June 1, 2015.

Non-compliant programs that exhibit such functionality will be detected by our software signatures that look for browser search protection code. Any program using code that can potentially perform search protection may be detected, regardless of whether the code is active.

To avoid detection, developers should remove any search protection code from their programs, regardless of whether it is functional or not.

We’ll be working with search protection developers and vendors who have completely disabled search protection functionality from their programs in alignment with our evaluation criteria.

Developers and vendors can email mpcreply@microsoft.com to start this process. They should provide links to side-by-side downloadable samples of:

    Any programs with fixed behavior that does not exhibit search protection functionality, but has inactive, dormant search protection code.
    Any older programs that are non-compliant with our evaluation criteria.

MMPC  help reduce the risk of having programs with search protection functionality turned off, but still containing non-compliant code, being detected as developers work on completely removing the non-compliant code.

Ask Toolbar  will be marked as “Unwanted Software” (or Malware) by Microsoft’s security tools Microsoft previously warned it would take action against software that tries to prevent users from changing their browser’s default search engine.

Ask Toolbar has its own special annoyances. When installed it switches your browser’s default search provider to Ask.com, and when you try to switch away it attempts to prevent you from doing so with a pop-up warning. If you’re not careful the toolbar can also reappear the next time you update Java.

Ask’s Toolbar has managed to live on as software bundled with Oracle’s Java for Windows. In March, Oracle also extended the Ask Toolbar download to Macs.

Bundleware is bad enough since even veteran PC users can be tricked into installing unwanted software—especially when you’re multitasking.

Example is Avira bundle with Ask Toolbar.

Microsoft warned that as of June 1 any program containing search protection functionality—code that tries to stop you from changing your browser or default search settings—would be treated as malware.

It appears Microsoft made good on its promise. Microsoft’s Malware Center now lists the Win32/Ask Toolbar as posing a “High threat to your PC.” The Ask Toolbar entry was first published in February, but was updated on Tuesday.

Microsoft’s security products including Windows Defender on Windows 8 and up, and Microsoft Security Essentials for Windows 7 and Vista can now detect and remove the toolbar.

Boot into UEFI mode or legacy BIOS-compatibility mode when installing Windows from your USB, DVD, or network location.
If you install Windows using the wrong mode, you won’t be able to use the features of that firmware mode without reformatting the drive.

Applies To: Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2 and the latest Windows 10

1. Boot the PC. As the firmware starts to run, press the key that opens the boot device menu. For example, press the Esc, F2, F9, F12, or other key to enter the firmware or boot menus.

   Note:
   You might see separate commands for the same device. For example, you might see UEFI USB Drive and BIOS USB Drive. Each command uses the same device and media, but boots the PC in a different firmware mode.

   
   
   
   
   If a boot device option does not appear for your device:
   • Check the options in the firmware menus to enable or disable BIOS-compatibility mode.
   • To use BIOS-compatibility mode, check for options in the firmware menus to disable UEFI SecureBoot features.
   • For older PCs (Windows® 7-era or earlier), look for options to Boot from file, and browse to the \EFI\BOOT\BOOTX64.EFI file on that device.
   
   
   When you boot Windows PE on a UEFI PC, you may need to check whether the PC is booted in UEFI mode or legacy BIOS-compatibility mode.
   For example, running Windows Setup through Windows PE requires you to be in the correct firmware mode.Use any of these methods to help make sure that Windows is installed using the correct firmware mode
   For many operations, such as applying Windows images using Diskpart and DISM, the firmware mode might not make a difference.
   
   

   • If you install Windows by using Windows Setup or the Windows installation DVD or Bootable USB drive, use preformatted hard drive on your destination PCs
   • Use the GPT file format for UEFI mode or MBR file format for BIOS mode.
     
     
     
     When Windows Setup runs, if the PC is booted to the wrong mode, Windows will fail to install. For more info, see Windows Setup: Installing using the MBR or GPT partition style.  If this is a frequent problem, you can remove the boot files for UEFI mode or BIOS mode to prevent the PC from booting in the wrong mode. If the PC firmware is set up to boot in the wrong mode, the media will immediately fail to boot, allowing you to immediately retry booting the PC into the correct mode.
     
     
   • You can remove the UEFI or BIOS boot files from either Windows PE or Windows Setup. For example, if you only include boot files for UEFI mode on the Windows installation DVD, and during manufacturing you accidentally attempt to boot the PC to BIOS mode, the PC will immediately fail to boot, and you can begin troubleshooting right away.
     
     • UEFI: To prevent Windows Setup or Windows PE from booting in BIOS mode, remove the bootmgr file on the root of the media.
     • BIOS: To prevent Windows Setup or Windows PE from booting in UEFI mode, remove the efi folder on the root of the media.
   • From Windows PE, you can check the GetFirmwareEnvironmentVariable function. For more info, see WinPE: Boot in UEFI or legacy BIOS mode.
     

         What is UEFI?

     UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) is a standard firmware interface for PCs, designed to replace BIOS (basic input/output system). This standard was created by over 140 technology companies as part of the UEFI consortium, including Microsoft. It's designed to improve software interoperability and address limitations of BIOS. Some advantages of UEFI firmware include:
     
     • Better security by helping to protect the pre-startup—or pre-boot—process against bootkit attacks.
     • Faster startup times and resuming from hibernation.
     •  Support for drives larger than 2.2 terabytes (TB).
     •  Support for modern, 64-bit firmware device drivers that the system can use to address more than 17.2 billion gigabytes (GB) of memory during startup.
     • Capabililty to use BIOS with UEFI hardware.
         
     Note:

     Switching from BIOS to UEFI

     
     The UEFI interface is much better looking than the old BIOS screen (a sample of an old BIOS is shown below), but I have found it to be a bit slower in use. Quickest navigation is by mouse, but my system is not always responsive to mouse clicks. This isn’t a major issue as I spend very little time in the UEFI, and the other benefits are huge.
     
     
     In addition to better interoperability, UEFI firmware provides several technical advantages:
     •     Compatibility with operating systems that support only BIOS
     •     Ability to boot from large disks
     •     CPU-independent architecture
     •     CPU-independent drivers
     •     Flexible pre-OS environment
     •     Modular design
     
     Two of the most notable Windows features for UEFI systems are the following:
     •     Multicast deployment, which enables large scale network-based image deployment in manufacturing and enterprise settings.
     •     Fast boot and resume from hibernation, which improves user experience.
     
     The rich UEFI interface provides ample room for innovation in the development of operating system features. Along with the other members of the Unified EFI Forum, Microsoft is investigating the following:
     •     Rootkit prevention
     •     Network authentication
     
     
     
     UEFI Support
     Operating systems started to support the platform interface design by 2007, but most Windows versions, such as Vista with SP1 and Windows Server 2008, only offered support on the 64-bit editions. Unfortunately, we found that industry support for UEFI is still very weak, and there are some shortcomings on the storage end.

Apple Swift Programming Language will be Open-Source by the end of the year

Apple first unveiled Swift for writing Mac and iOS apps at the 2014 WWDC. The language works in Apple’s Xcode integrated development environment and Apple’s Cocoa and Cocoa Touch frameworks.

Apple is taking a big step to make its Swift programming language more and more pervasive. The language’s compiler and libraries for iOS, OS X, and Linux will become available under an open-source license by the end of the year, Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of software engineering, said today at Apple’s 2015 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco.

“We think Swift is the next big programming language, the one that we’ll all be doing application and system programming on for 20 years to come,” Federighi said. “We think Swift should be everywhere and used by everyone.”

The first app built on Swift is the WWDC app itself. Apple is apparently offering its developers a much faster and more effective means of building software applications with an "interactive playground," significantly improving on its own Objective-C.

Apple describes Swift as “a successor” to C and Objective-C on its website, with its support for object-oriented programming and whole module optimization.

Sure enough, developers recently showed their love for Swift in a Stack Overflow survey. No other language had a higher percentage of developers who currently use it and want to continue to do so.

Apple has not had a big open-source reputation over the years. Microsoft has done a good bit in the past few years to make more of its development tools available under open-source licenses. The .NET open-source efforts have been notable in particular. Now, with Google pushing Go and Mozilla advocating Rust, Apple is trying to make Swift bigger by hitting the open-source button.

In addition to going open source, Apple is introducing Swift 2. Improvements include error handling, synthesized headers in Apple’s Xcode integrated development environment, and protocol extensions, Federighi told the crowd.

DOST To Develop Micro-Hydro Power Generation Technology

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) has started to embark on the development of micro-hydropower generation technology, an official said yesterday.

The department has reached an agreement in principle with state-owned Philippine National Oil Corp.-Renewables Corp. The PNOC-RC would provide models on hydropower generation machinery, such as turbines, to be studied by DOST scientists and engineers.
“They will show us models, but only small ones. It will be a joint development project. DOST will try to develop the technology,” Science Secretary Mario Montejo told The STAR in a phone interview.

“We will start very small. It will be a mini- or micro-hydropower,” Montejo said, noting that the Philippines has great potential for hydropower generation because it has numerous rivers within its territory.

If local scientists and engineers are able to develop micro-hydropower capacities, Montejo said even small rivers that could not be tapped for large-scale power generation may be used to append the limited power supply in small towns.

Last week, the DOST signed a memorandum of agreement with the PNOC-RC for the installation of solar panels as an alternative source of electricity in offices within the DOST compound in Taguig City.

This would reduce the electricity bill by 20 percent, the DOST said.
The DOST added that it would not spend a single centavo for the partnership and would merely provide the rooftop space of its buildings for the solar project.

The length of cooperation between both agencies will run for 15 years, after which ownership of the installed solar panels would be fully transferred to the DOST, Montejo said.

Aside from the DOST buildings, Montejo said the Philippine Science High School, which now has 14 campuses all over the country, would join the project and adopt solar power technology.

Cortana is Disabled when you set your Device Language and  Region outside United States.
Although Cortana Search will work in all languages. Microsoft has, however, promised to make improvements in future builds, adding new capabilities and more languages.

Cortana is only available for the US and English language , so the trick here is set your  Language and region to US and English Language.

Go to Notification on the rightside button near the clock and date Go or click  All Setting Find Time and Language

 After you set your Language  and Region you can now  Turn On  your Cortana

And make sure you have Microsoft account.

To Activate Cortana you must say the magic  word  "Hey! Cortana " and she will start responding to you.. 

In 2014 active listening was added to Cortana, enabling it to be triggered with the phrase: “Hey Cortana,” even across the room and without the need to touch the phone. After the trigger phrase is spoken, Cortana can be controlled normally for tasks like setting a reminder, asking a question, or launching an app.
