HTTPS support now available to Blogspot

Google expanding on the HTTPS Everywhere mission and beginning an initial rollout of HTTPS support for Blogspot. HTTPS is a cornerstone of internet security as it provides several important benefits: it makes it harder for bad actors to steal information or track the activities of blog authors and visitors, it helps check that visitors open the correct website and aren’t being redirected to a malicious location, and it helps detect if a bad actor tries to change any data sent from Blogger to a blog visitor.

While this initial rollout won’t support all of Blogger users, blogger wanted to take the first step to make HTTPS available for Blogspot; for those users who want to try it early.

We’re rolling this out gradually and Blogspot authors interested in enabling HTTPS support can begin opting-in today. Simply log into https://www.blogger.com, click on the blog you’d like to make HTTPS enabled, navigate to the Settings page, and select "yes" for "HTTPS Availability". Unfortunately, blogs with custom domains are not supported in this first version.

Not Available on Custom Domain like blogmytuts.net

Once enabled, your blog will become accessible over both HTTP and HTTPS connections. Blogspot authors should be aware that if they choose to encrypt at this time, some of the current functionality of their blog may not work over HTTPS. This can be a result of template, gadgets, and blog post content, and is often caused by mixed content errors, some of which may be fixable by the author themselves.

The Windows Control Panel will soon be killed and totally replace by Settings App

As Microsoft continues to expand the Settings app in Windows 10, it’s possible that the old Control Panel’s days are numbered.

With Windows 10, Microsoft has added more of those Control Panel options to the Settings app, while maintaining the clean design and simplified language that makes it less intimidating to the average user. In cases where the Control Panel remains necessary, the Settings menu often includes direct links from the most relevant section. That makes it a much better starting point when you’re trying to configure the system.

Also writing on Twitter, Microsoft’s Gabe Aul said that getting to a single Settings menu would allow Windows to cut down on memory usage and disk space. Still, neither he nor LeBlanc gave a timeline on when the Control Panel might be retired.

“Settings will eventually supersede Control Panel,” said Brandon LeBlanc, Microsoft’s senior program manager on the Windows Insider program. LeBlanc explained on Twitter that Microsoft will keep adding more advanced options to the Settings app, with the goal of having one experience that’s consistent across all Windows devices, including phones and tablets.

The Settings app first debuted in Windows 8, but at the time it provided just bare-bones access to basic system options. Advanced options, such as File History backups and desktop program management, still required a trip to the Control Panel.

Example here there is a big deference on adding windows features in control panel you have full control like enable  "Windows Telnet" which I always need, while the Setting apps only show Language as optional or additional features .

How ever there is a hidden Godmode fully control panel like .

Facebook adds 'Reactions' to Like button feature

About a month ago, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the company was close to testing a "Dislike" button, but didn't specify what format it would take.

Zuckerberg said that although a "Dislike" button has been one of the most asked-for features, he didn't want to turn Facebook into a place where people voted posts up or down.
The bigger goal, he said, was to give users ways to express empathy on Facebook.

We studied which comments and reactions are most commonly and universally expressed across Facebook, then worked to design an experience around them that was elegant and fun," Facebook product manager Chris Cox said in an announcement Thursday.

There's a throbbing heart for "Love," a fuming face for "Angry," a teary-eyed "Sad," a laughing "Haha," a surprised "Wow" and an eyes-closed smile for "Yay."

Facebook says it will use tests of the Reactions feature in Ireland and Spain to improve the options, and hopes to give all users the ability to say "Yay" and "Haha" soon.

Update Reaction Button is Completely Roll Out!!

Just Hover your mouse pointer to view Reaction Button on Like Button!

Pluto has blue skies and exposed picture taken by New Horizons

Pluto has blue skies and exposed, bright red water ice, NASA announced on Thursday, as the first spacecraft ever sent to the dwarf planet continues to send data from the edge of the solar system.

First spacecraft  New Horizons ever sent to the dwarf planet continues to transmit data after sending the first color images of Pluto’s atmospheric hazes last week..

NASA’s New Horizons probe sent the first color images of Pluto’s atmospheric hazes to Earth last week, revealing that the mysterious mix of particles scatter blue light when sunlight reaches them.

In contrast to its Earth, Mars has smudged dawns and bleary sunsets, sometimes in a grey-green or mix of yellow and hazy blue. Its atmosphere is 95% carbon dioxide, and far thinner, although the Curiosity rover has from time to time photographed blue clouds drifting through the dust. In contrast the Venusian atmosphere, although also mostly carbon dioxide, churns with clouds of sulfuric acid created in part by the extreme radiation so close to the sun.

NASA also announced the discovery of exposed regions of water ice, curiously at some of the places that appear bright red in recent color images.

Most of the water ice on Pluto, including mountains the size of the Rockies, is covered by other kinds of frozen detritus, including nitrogen snow and methane ice, and the scientists admitted that the correlation between the red colors and water ice has them puzzled.

New Horizons is now more than 3.1bn miles from Earth and hurtling toward another Kuiper belt object, this one temporarily named “potential target one”. With its systems and plutonium fuel “healthy”, as Stern put it on Monday, the spacecraft could continue to relay data back to Earth about the third ring of the solar system for more than 20 years.

Cannot uninstall Office 2010, 2007, 2003 from Control Panel "Language is Not Supported"

I have a customer today  he upgrade from office 2007 to office 2010.
Every time she tried to uninstall it from Control Panel it kept giving "This language is not supported on your system" error message.

If you are unable to uninstall Microsoft Office 2003, Office 2007 or Office 2010 from Control Panel in Windows 7, Vista or XP, then this article may interest you!

This could happen if the installation process did not complete when you tried to install a new program or the uninstall process did not go through as expected.

Or it is quite possible that the previously installed Office program installation files has got corrupted.

Manual change Language is not working!!

British Intel Can Hack Any Smarthone with just one SMS according to Snowden

Former NSA contractor and global surveillance whistleblower Edward Snowden told the BBC investigative programme Panorama Monday night that the British intelligence agency GCHQ has powers to hack any smartphones without their owners' knowledge.

Despite what Snowden did or is doing for the world, Today for the United States, Edward Snowden is the Most Wanted Man in the World.

The British Spying Agency have special tools that let them take over your smartphones with just a text message, said Edward Snowden, and there is "very little" you can do to prevent them having "total control" over your devices.

NSA Spends $1 Billion on Similar Program

Snowden added the technology is provided by the United States National Security Agency (NSA), which provides "tasking and direction" to its UK counterpart and have spent $1 Billion on similar program itself in the US.
Snowden also told the Panorama programme that he is ready to accept jail time in the US as part of a deal to return home. However, he is still waiting for an answer from the US government.

The set of tools, according to Snowden, is called "Smurf Suite" and each of the individual tools has their own name and functions described as following:
  • Dreamy Smurf – It lets the smartphone be powered ON and OFF.
  • Nosey Smurf – It lets the spy agencies turn the Microphone ON and listen in on user's conversations, even if the phone itself is turned OFF, as they have other tools to turn it ON.
  • Tracker Smurf – It is a Geolocation tool that lets spies follow you with a greater precision than you would get from a typical triangulation of mobile phone towers.
  • Paranoid Smurf – It hides the fact from the smartphone owners that someone has taken control of their phones. The tool will stop users from recognising that their smartphones have been tampered with in case it is taken in for a service.
  • Even the user would not be able to see the text message that is being used to gain access to his or her smartphone, and they would have no indication that any message had arrived, according to Snowden.

That is a specially crafted message that is texted to your number like any other message but when it arrives at your phone it is hidden from you," Snowden told the BBC Monday. "It does not display. You paid for it [smartphone] but whoever controls the software owns the phone.

Even the user would not be able to see the text message that is being used to gain access to his or her smartphone, and they would have no indication that any message had arrived, according to Snowden.

"I have volunteered to go to prison with the government many times," Snowden said in the interview. "What I will not do is I will not serve as a deterrent to people trying to do the right thing in difficult situations."

However, on the same programme, former director of the NSA Michael Hayden told the BBC that Snowden had destroyed their ability to protect people and save their lives with his betrayal.

Qubes OS, "Security by Isolation" Can Protect You Even if You Get Hacked

If you are Interested in Security and Hacking, you have probably already heard of various security-focused Operating Systems like Tails, Whonix and Kali Linux.

Qubes OS is a Linux based security-oriented and open-source operating system for personal computers, which runs everything inside the virtual machines.
Its visualization mechanism follows ‘Security by Isolation’ (Software Compartmentalization) principle to secure the systems, i.e. enabling the Principle of least privileges.
So, If you are a victim of a malicious cyber attack, doesn't let an attacker take over your entire computer.

Last week, the team at Invisible Things Project has announced the official release of Qubes 3.0 (Version 3), which is now based on Hypervisor Abstraction Layer (HAL), Xen 4.4 virtualization technology and supports Debian Linux.

Qubes is often misunderstood as a Linux distribution, but instead it can be called as Xen distribution.

Key Architecture features

  • Based on a secure bare-metal hypervisor (Xen)
  • Networking code sand-boxed in an unprivileged VM (using IOMMU/VT-d)
  • USB stacks and drivers sand-boxed in an unprivileged VM (currently experimental feature)
  • No networking code in the privileged domain (dom0)
  • All user applications run in “AppVMs,” lightweight VMs based on Linux
  • Centralized updates of all AppVMs based on the same template
  • Qubes GUI virtualization presents applications as if they were running locally
  • Qubes GUI provides isolation between apps sharing the same desktop
  • Secure system boot based (optional)

(Note: In the diagram above, “Storage domain” is actually a USB domain.)

Xen is a Native or Bare-Metal Hypervisor that uses a microkernel framework and offer services that allow multiple operating systems to execute on the same computer hardware simultaneously.

A Hypervisor is a computer software, firmware or hardware that allows multiple operating systems to share a single hardware host, where:

Each operating system appears to have the host's processor, memory, and other resources all to itself.
A Hypervisor is of two types, Native/Bare Metal and Hosted Hypervisor; with one running directly on the system hardware and hosting Guest OS and other runs within a Host OS and Hosts Guest OS inside it respectively.

The native/bare metal hypervisor is considered as the Pure Hypervisor as it promises security compartmentalization, reliability and higher security.
Similarly, Xen Hypervisor handles memory management and CPU scheduling of all virtual machines ("domains"), and for launching the most privileged domain ("dom0").

‘dom0’ i.e. Domain Zero, is the control domain of the Xen Hypervisor that has direct access to hardware.

Like Xen, Qubes works in a similar manner by:

  • Enabling execution of each separate component in its window environment on the same screen.
  • Also, you can view and use each active "window" much like how Linux allows you to open many windows on one desktop screen.

By using Xen Hypervisor, Qubes has tightened the security of a system, as for an attacker, he must be capable of destructing the hypervisor itself in order to compromise the entire system, which is hard task to achieve.

“It is like using a VMware server with multiple guest OSes,” explained Joanna Rutkowska, founder and CEO of Invisible Things Lab.

Qubes Supports Whonix (Anonymous Operating System)

Further, it supports all the operating system environment like:

  • Microsoft Windows
  • Linux distributions
  • Whonix
Whonix is another security focused Linux-based operating system (Debian); it is capable of providing privacy, security and anonymity on the internet.
It enforces only Tor-based communication and allows Qubes users to connect to the Internet via a more secure anonymity-focused VM.

After 40 Years More Than 10,000 High-Res Photos From The Apollo Missions Is Now Available To View on Flickr

An incredible collection of more than 10,000 photos from the Apollo missions is now available to view on Flickr. It includes every single photo taken by astronauts on the surface of the Moon, and various other images taken on Earth or in space, revealed in their raw, original form in high-resolution.

The collection is the result of painstaking work by Kipp Teague of the Project Apollo Archive. Although he enlisted help from NASA, the effort is an independent one, making the endeavor all the more impressive. The images were obtained from scans of the original film magazines from the missions.

Among the images, many taken with chest-mounted Hasselblad cameras, are shots of Earth rising above the Moon, countless snaps from the lunar surface and some fascinating images of the crew. Other images from some Apollo missions not present in the collection will be included at a later date, Teague told The Planetary Society.

Each image is 1,800 DPI (dots per inch), and unedited from their original form. Thus, as you browse through the collection, don’t be surprised to find blurry, amateurish shots of astronauts on spacecraft among stunning vistas of the Moon.

You can also download them.. upto 4080 x 4080p.

So, what are you waiting for? Go and have a look through the collection. We can wait.

Mark Zukerberg Announce Facebook First Project To Deliver Internet from Space

After testing drones in London  Internet from the Sky Mark Zukerberg Announce Facebook First Project To Deliver internet from Space. As part of  Internet.org efforts to connect the world, we're partnering with Eutelsat to launch a satellite into orbit that will connect millions of people.

We already knew Internet.org is plans to bring low-cost internet access to the otherwise disconnected, and today, his social network announced to deliver internet from Space on Mark Facebook Account and posted some picture :

Over the last year Facebook has been exploring ways to use aircraft and satellites to beam internet access down into communities from the sky. To connect people living in remote regions, traditional connectivity infrastructure is often difficult and inefficient, so we need to invent new technologies.

As part of our collaboration with Eutelsat, a new satellite called Amos-6 is going to provide internet coverage to large parts of Sub-Saharan Africa. The Amos-6 satellite is under construction now and will launch in 2016 into a geostationary orbit that will cover large parts of West, East and Southern Africa. We’re going to work with local partners across these regions to help communities begin accessing internet services provided through satellite.

This is just one of the innovations we’re working on to achieve our mission with Internet.org. Connectivity changes lives and communities. We’re going to keep working to connect the entire world -- even if that means looking beyond our planet.

The Antonov An-124 Ruslan is a strategic airlift jet aircraft. It was designed by the Antonov design bureau in the Ukrainian SSR, then part of the Soviet Union. For a time the massive An-124 held the mantle of the world's largest aircraft before the arrival of the An-225, a stretched six engine derivative. It is commonly used for oversize freight charters.
