This is a How To guide for How To Install Multiple Monitors on a PC system running Windows. I am not sure how the other operating packages work with multiple monitors, so do not be disappointed if this does not work and you are running something other than Windows.

As monitors become thinner and thinner, the possibility of setting up multiple monitors on one computer is becoming a reality. Flat Panel monitors take up less space than traditional monitors, and can be connected so that they are next to one another either horizontally or vertically. No longer is having two or more monitors something that only the tech savvy can enjoy... now you can too!

Why Would You Want Multiple Monitors? - This is the question that you have to really answer before you go out and buy more than one monitor. I work in an office where I have three monitors hooked up to my computer. It may sound excessive to the average user, but I always have something going on on each screen. If you use excel frequently, you know that flipping between screens on one monitor can become annoying, especially if you are doing data entry. With multiple monitors, you can have excel set up on one screen and the data that you are taking on the other. If you use Bloomberg at all, you know that there are four little screens that pop up when you log on, and usually you can have something different going on each of them (messaging, market tracking, news, etc.). Having all four of these screens on one monitor can be extremely helpful for searching through them, as well as for going through various other programs (because having the Bloomberg screens up on the same monitor can become a hassle). At the end of the day, you can see that there are many reasons to have multiple monitors hooked up to your computer. If you think that it would help you, read on. If you think that it's pointless, I urge you to stop reading now and not to waste your time... 

Step 1: Buying the Monitors - The first step in setting up multiple monitors is buying the monitors. If you are unable to purchase the same model twice, I would suggest getting two that are the same size and have similar builds (dot pitches, brightness, etc.). This is because when the two are next to one another, if they are different it can become incredibly annoying if you are dragging your mouse over uneven areas (for example, if you drag your mouse from one monitor to the next, if one is taller, you are more likely to bring it down on the taller monitor before you go to the shorter one, even though this is not necessary). Keep in mind that it is also not necessary to buy the biggest monitors possible because they are going to be situated next to one another - so they will seem pretty big even if they're not.

Step 2: Buying the Graphics Cards - If you are going to have multiple monitors, you are going to need to have multiple graphics cards (or a graphics card with two outputs). Most computers only have one AGP slot, so you are probably only going to be able to get one really awesome graphics card in your computer. However, you can buy as many PCI graphics cards as your computer can fit and set up a monitor on each one. Also, you can buy graphics cards that have two monitor outputs, so you really can go nuts if you want to with monitors. Which graphics card you purchase really depends upon what you want to do. For gaming, you are going to need top of the line graphics cards. For email and excel, you are not going to need anything too special.
Note: If you are trying to set up multiple monitors on a Laptop, you do not need to purchase graphics cards (unless you are trying to set up three monitors). Most laptops have a monitor output in the back of the computer, and the monitor set up from there can be used in addition to the laptop screen. If you want to set up three monitors on a laptop, skip to the end of this where I will explain.

Step 3: Installing the Graphics Cards - Installing graphics cards is not that hard of a task to complete. However, BEFORE YOU OPEN YOUR COMPUTER CHECK TO SEE THAT YOU ARE NOT VIOLATING YOUR WARRANTY. Most computer manufacturers have a clause that states that if the computer is opened, for any reason, the warranty is voided.
When you open your computer and look inside, you will see all sorts of slots. There are usually five or eight PCI slots on the motherboard. They are located on the side where they would be facing the back of the computer box. DO NOT TAKE THE MOTHERBOARD OUT OF THE COMPUTER. All you have to do is click in the PCI Video Card into a PCI slot. That's it. Screw it in if there is a place to do so in order to secure it, and put the cover back on. If you are installing an AGP video card, do the same but in the AGP slot (it is usually above the PCI slots). For each graphics card that you install, you should shut down the computer, turn it on, move onto the next steps, and then come back to this one (i.e. only install one at a time).

4. Setup the Monitors - Set the monitors up on the desk and connect them to the back of the computer. It's pretty straight forward and pretty easy. If you are running Windows XP, you are essentially done at this point because XP will detect the monitors by itself. All you have to do is configure the monitors and you are done.

5. Configuring the Monitors - There are a few ways to get to the screen that you need to go to. The easiest is to just right-click the desktop and go to properties, and then go over to the Settings Tab. The other way is to go Start / Settings / Control Panel / Display / Settings Tab. YOU SHOULD ONLY BE ABLE TO SEE STUFF ON ONE MONITOR AT THIS POINT... DO NOT FREAK OUT. Click on the secondary monitor picture (primary is the one with the big one on it, the secondary monitor is going to have any other number in it... 2 if it's the 2nd monitor, 3 if it's the 3rd, etc.). You can arrange the monitor pictures to however you have your two monitors set up on your desk. Click on the new monitor, and then click the button on the bottom that says Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor. Then click apply and you should be good to go! Your desktop should not extend onto both monitors.

Extra Laptop Portion for Three Monitors - If you want to set up a third monitor on your laptop, you are going to have to buy a PCMCIA Video Card (it's a card that's going to go into the little slot on the side of your computer). Before the days of built in Ethernet cards and Modems, you used to have to purchase PCMCIA cards that would go into there (just as a reference point). These video cards are different than the typical PCI or AGP cards, which is why I wanted to separate it into a different section in order to avoid confusion. Purchase one of these, put it in your laptop, and you should be good to go! NOTE :New Laptop already have built in video card.

General Note: It helps to make sure that you have all of the latest Windows drivers installed on your computer - no matter what version you are using!

Large asteroid 2012 DA14 heading to Earth NASA say Pray!

CAPE CANAVERAL - NASA chief Charles Bolden has advice on how to handle a large asteroid headed toward New York City: Pray.

 

Congress got the word from NASA on Tuesday about its options for dealing with the threats posed by asteroids and comets: Lawmakers can either provide adequate funding for detecting and characterizing near-Earth objects, and diverting them if necessary — or they can pray.

Threats from space are generally the stuff of science-fiction movies such as "Armageddon" and "Deep Impact," but members of the House Science Committee took a hard look at the realities during Tuesday's hearing, which came in response to the Feb. 15 meteor explosion over Russia as well as a close encounter that same day with a much bigger asteroid known as 2012 DA14.

That's about all the United States - or anyone for that matter - could do at this point about unknown asteroids and meteors that may be on a collision course with Earth, Bolden told lawmakers at a U.S. House of Representatives Science Committee hearing on Tuesday.

 

An asteroid estimated to be have been about 55 feet (17 meters) in diameter exploded on Feb. 15 over Chelyabinsk, Russia, generating shock waves that shattered windows and damaged buildings. More than 1,500 people were injured.

 

Later that day, a larger, unrelated asteroid discovered last year passed about 17,200 miles (27,681 km) from Earth, closer than the network of television and weather satellites that ring the planet.

 

The events "serve as evidence that we live in an active solar system with potentially hazardous objects passing through our neighborhood with surprising frequency," said Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson, a Texas Democrat.

 

"We were fortunate that the events of last month were simply an interesting coincidence rather than a catastrophe," said Committee Chairman Lamar Smith, a Texas Republican, who called the hearing to learn what is being done and how much money is needed to better protect the planet.

 

NASA has found and is tracking about 95 percent of the largest objects flying near Earth, those that are .62 miles (1 km) or larger in diameter.

 

"An asteroid of that size, a kilometer or bigger, could plausibly end civilization," White House science advisor John Holdren told legislators at the same hearing.

 

But only about 10 percent of an estimated 10,000 potential "city-killer" asteroids, those with a diameter of about 165 feet (50 meters) have been found, Holdren added.

 

On average, objects of that size are estimated to hit Earth about once every 1,000 years.

 

"From the information we have, we don't know of an asteroid that will threaten the population of the United States," Bolden said. "But if it's coming in three weeks, pray."

 

In addition to stepping up its monitoring efforts and building international partnerships, NASA is looking at developing technologies to divert an object that may be on a collision course with Earth.

 

"The odds of a near-Earth object strike causing massive casualties and destruction of infrastructure are very small, but the potential consequences of such an event are so large it makes sense to takes the risk seriously," Holdren said.

 

About 66 million years ago, an object 6 miles (10 km) in diameter is believed to have smashed into what is now the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, leading to the demise of the dinosaurs, as well as most plant and animal life on Earth.

 

The asteroid that exploded over Russia last month was the largest object to hit Earth's atmosphere since the 1908 Tunguska event when an asteroid or comet exploded over Siberia, leveling 80 million trees over more than 830 square miles (2,150 sq km). — Reuters

Fourth-Generation Intel Core

 After a few months Intel has a new Fourth-Generation Intel Core Desktop Line-Up!!.
According to Intel’s current plans, you’ll find dual- and quad-core LGA 1150 models with the GT2 graphics configuration sporting 20 execution units. There will also be dual- and quad-core socketed rPGA-based models for the mobile space, featuring the same graphics setup. Everything in the table above is LGA 1150, though. All of those models share support for two channels of DDR3-1600 at 1.5 V and 800 MHz minimum core frequencies. They also share a 16-lane PCI Express 3.0 controller, AVX2 support, and AES-NI support. Interestingly, four of the listed models do not support Intel's new Transactional Synchronization Extensions (TSX). We're not sure why Intel would want to differentiate its products with a feature intended to handle locking more efficiently, but that appears to be what it's doing.

We compare its performance to Ivy Bridge- and Sandy Bridge-based processors, so you have some idea what to expect when Intel officially introduces its Haswell architecture.

The much-anticipated GT3 graphics engine, with 40 EUs, is limited to BGA-based applications, meaning it won’t be upgradeable. Intel will have quad-core with GT3, quad-core with GT2, and dual-core with GT2 versions in ball grid array packaging. GT3 will also make an appearance in a BGA-based multi-chip package that includes a Lynx Point chipset. That’ll be a dual-core part, though.
In addition to the processors Intel plans to launch here in a few months, we’ll also be introduced to the 8-series Platform Controller Hubs, currently code-named Lynx Point. The most feature-complete version of Lynx Point will incorporate six SATA 6Gb/s ports, 14 total USB ports (six of which are USB 3.0), eight lanes of second-gen PCIe, and VGA output.
Eight-series chipsets are going to be physically smaller than their predecessors (23x22 millimeters on the desktop, rather than 27x27) with lower pin-counts. This is largely attributable to more capabilities integrated on the CPU itself. Previously, eight Flexible Display Interface lanes connected the processor and PCH. Although the processor die hosted an embedded DisplayPort controller, the VGA, LVDS, digital display interfaces, and audio were all down on the chipset. Now, the three digital ports are up in the processor, along with the audio and embedded DisplayPort. LVDS is gone altogether, as are six of the FDI lanes.

Dubbed ODROID-X, the developer board measures  3.5 x 3.7 inches and packs a a 1.4 GHz Exynos 4412 quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU, Mali 400 graphics, 1GB of RAM, 6 USB 2.0 ports, 10/1000Mbps Ethernet, mic and headphone jacks, a full-sized SDHC card slot, and runs on Google's Android 4.0.4. You can also opt for some additional features including a WiFi chip and antenna, LCD, Bluetooth, HDMI, camera, and storage modules.

Obviously, this is a huge step up from Raspberry Pi's ARM1176JZF-S700 MHz CPU, VideoCore IV GPU, and 256 megabytes of RAM, and this jump in spec also applies to the price. While a Raspberry Pi board will only set you back $35, the ODROID-X costs significantly more at $129. Still, this is a device aimed at software and hardware developers and enthusiasts, whereas Raspberry Pi was designed to be used in the classroom to teach the basics of computer science. Perhaps kids starting out with Raspberry Pi will want to graduate to the ODROID-X before long.

Connect Openvpn UDP (GLOBE) 2013

after I found my b933 modem  I quickly test it  and set  all configuration needed to run it.

This is the blogmytuts tutorials  for today   (B-day)

REQUIREMENTS:

> Globe prepaid simcards (NOT BUGGED SIM)
> Load? atleast zero load.
> USB modem
> laptop/pc
> HSS configured openvpn portable

GLOBE client IP REQUIREMENTS:

> 10.31.X.X
> 10.100.X.X

USB MODEM SETTINGS:

> APN = http.globe.com.ph
> access number = *99#
> WINS settings = 10.11.12.13 , 10.11.12.14

VPN SETTINGS:

> DHCP disabled or not

VPN CONFIG:

> lport 68
> rport 67

HOW TO RUN 

1. Install the  TAP HSS this is very important or else you get error message I used 89duf  tap installer
For Windows 7 user you RUN  as Admin  or  Download HSS installer on their site (google for it)

2. Go to your Network Connection  Setup your WINS fallow the picture below.
