How to Downgrade and Reconnect SMART MyBrO Wimax +WiFi GreenPacket

NOTE: 

• Why need to downgrade ?

To have admin  access  Generic Firmware is needed If Generic Firmware is  use  your MODEM is UNLOCKED  the default admin user

• Why we need admin?

To have full control with telnet command and configuration etc.

TAKE NOTE:  If the firmware is change with the admin rights you can access any ISP with  wimax frequency  so you can connect  both Smart and Globe  with the  right MAC  Address and Authentication and  ISP frequency.

UPADATE: kung Version 7 na yung mybro mo huwag muna downgrade  diretso kana sa mga scripts + protection  

Green Packet modem has wide range Frequency this is possible.

 

How to Downgrade?

1. First download the generic  firmware  you can choose  1.0.5  or  1.0.4

PLEASE NOTE: This are not RAR or ZIP file Do Not Extract!!!

UPADATE: kung Version 7  pababa na yung mybro mo huwag muna downgrade  diretso kana sa mga scripts + protection



 Download DV-235t Firmware  1.0.5

Download DV-235t Firmware 1.0.4

Download DV-235t Smart Firmware V7

2. Log in to your  Mybro by typing 192.168.15.1  on your Fave Browser

pass:smart

3.  Go to Management  Click Recovery then  click Factory Default.. then wait...

4. After the Reboot  Log in again

• Go to Management   
• Click Upgrade 
• Select your Firmware 
• Click Upgrade

NOTE:  IF YOU CANNOT CLICK UPGRADE USE GOOGLE CHROME OR OTHER BROWSER

5. After Reboot Log in   again

6. To make the new  Firmware Effective.

• Click Management
• Click Recovery
• Click Factory Default
• Then Wait.....

You have an access but the problem is you must go out to have a good signal.

Solution  used a WiFi router with a a Repeater function.

What is Repeater?

Repeaters are used to increase the range of a transmitted signal by re-transmission. For a conducted signal, an amplifier is used. Optical systems don't amplify but all these devices give the appearance of doing so.

 Advantages

• Makes it easy to expand a network over a large distance.
• Connection between various types of media [e.g. fibre optic, UTF, coaxial cable] is possible.

Disadvantages

• Traffic cannot be filtered to ease congestion.
• A repeater cannot work across multiple network architectures.

1. Plug your WiFi Router in your computer , then type your router  default gateway and log in.

2.Click the Basic Setting  then change mode  into "client" , click apply if reboot is required  then reboot.

3. After reboot  click the "Site Survey "  look for available WiFi network

After scanning ...

 4. Choose which you want to Clone ( Repeater) ( the one which you know the password  :D )

click the circle  then click NEXT..

5. Input the  WiFi Password  then click  Connect..

6. Click Setup Wizard   the choose "Wireless ISP"

7. After reboot click again Setup Wizard  click the Wireless ISP click next

8. Choose WAN Access Type  ( if you already know their IP  choose static if not DHCP)

click " Next"

MODE: select   "client"

Insert their WiFi password then click finished..

Now Open your WiFi  scan  ..

Connected  :)

Malware attacks are now just a sound away

If you think that a computer which is not connected to a network, doesn't have any USB sticks attached to it and doesn’t accept any kind of electronic connection requests are reasonably safe against hackers and from all the malware, then you are Wrong.

Here we have something shocking update that Some German Scientists have developed a proof of concept Malware prototype, could allow a hacker to infect your computers and other digital devices just using Inaudible Audio signals.

The ability to bridge an air gap could be a potent infection vector. Just imagine, a cyber attack using high-frequency sound waves to infect machines, where stolen data also can be transferred back to attacker without a network connection, Sounds very terrifying ?

When a few weeks ago, a security researcher Dragos Ruiu claimed malware dubbed badBIOS allowed infected machines to communicate using sound waves alone, means that the devices are physically disconnected from any networks, including the internet,  people said he was crazy.

 

But Now German Researchers have published a paper on how malware can be designed to cross the air gap by transmitting information through speakers and recording it via microphone.

Rather than relying on TCP-IP, they used a network stack originally developed for underwater communication and the signal was propagated through the use of a software-defined modem based on the GNU Radio project.

In a scenario based hacking, “The infected victim sends all recorded keystrokes to the covert acoustical mesh network. Infected drones forward the keystroke information inside the covert network till the attacker is reached, who is now able to read the current keyboard input of the infected victim from a distant place.” paper explained.

In another scenario, the researchers used sound waves to send keystroke information to a network-connected computer, which then sent the information to the attacker via email.

While the research doesn’t prove Dragos Ruiu’s badBIOS claims, but it does show that even if the system is disconnected from any network, could still be vulnerable to attackers. However, I would like to appreciate Dragos dedication about badBIOS research because this extraordinary concept was first introduced by him only.

Researchers POC Malware is able to transfer data at 20 bits per second only, which is very low, but that's still capable of transferring your password or credit card number to the hacker in a few seconds.

Some basic countermeasures one can adopt to protect against such malware are:

·                                 Switching off the audio input and output devices from the system.

·                                 Employ audio filtering that blocks high-frequency ranges.

·                                 Using an Audio Intrusion Detection Guard.
